to the sea

Chapter 12

Edmund and I both decided that this town was quite nice and that we wanted to stay for a couple of days longer. I would usually disagree because the longer we stay then the farther my father would be. Edmund did make a point that there could be the possibility that he can arrive here and we are just coming from opposite directions. I agreed with him and this is our new place for the next couple of days.

"You know the drill if we don't run into each other later then make sure to meet here before sundown" Edmund said.

"Yes I know" I replied.

He was off and I decided to stay here for a while and see what I can scavenge from my bag.

All I had were some gross old biscuits that didn't look the best but it was all I had because Edmund had the rest in his bag.

The biscuit was definitely not good but it managed. The ocean was so beautiful I wish my mom took me out when I was a kid but she always went on how the only safe place is land but she is always out. Never made sense to me.

Sometimes I always went with what my my mom said because she knows more than I do but then she never takes her advice.

My mom was an interesting person and she certainly does know more than me because she did manage to get off an island all on her own.

Maybe when I do find my dad and see him from afar I will poke the voodoo doll and see if it works and to see how bad the pain really is.

I saw Rachel "hello Rachel".

"Evergreen hi I thought you'd be gone by now".

"Usually I would but we decided to stay for a few more days".

"That's wonderful. I was just about to meet Serena do you want to come".

"I would love to".

Meeting Rachel and Serena was just so wonderful because it is nice to have new people to talk with. I do love talking with Edmund but it is just different.

"Serena look who I have found" Rachel said.

"Evergreen so good to see you again" Serena said to me.

"Good to see you again" I replied to Serena.

I sat and chatted with them for a while then I saw Edmund and ran up to him and told him to come and meet the people who gave me the information.

"Just for a bit I want to go do some things" he said.

"I understand" I replied.

We walked back over to Rachel and Serena.

"This is Edmund the one I have been traveling with".

"Nice to meet you" they both said.

"Nice to meet you and thanks for all the information" he said.

"No problem" Serena said.

"I have got some things I would like to do basically more exploring but Evergreen I'll see you later and thank you Rachel and Serena once again" Edmund said.

We all said bye to him.

"He's so cute" Serena said.

"Yeah he is Evergreen you are a lucky girl " Rachel said.

"I mean I guess he is a great travel companion" I said.

"That's good and he is treating you good?" Serena asked.

"Yeah he is and he knows his boundaries" I said.

"Okay good" Serena said.

We chatted for a while and they went their own ways and I went mine. Rachel and Serena were so nice that it makes me wish I lived here because then I will know that I would have friends and have someone to talk to besides Edmund.

I decided to go find somewhere to sit once again because I didn't know what to do exactly.

While walking I noticed this tailor shop and looking through the window and it said others can sell their clothes and I was rummaging through my bag and I remembered that I have an extra vest that I found buried in the dirt where I live. I just took it because it was in the middle of nowhere and it looked like it had been there for a while. Luckily I brought it with just for back up just in case something would of happened and I needed a vest. I ran back to the boat and went through the other things I have brought. I grabbed it and went back over to the tailor.

I walked in "what can I do for you" the man said.

"I was just wondering how much I could get for this" I said.

He examined it and told me the amount it wasn't much but I agreed to take it because I needed more to be able to get more food.

I left the tailor shop feeling a bit more hopeful and better and know it was time to find out what else this place could offer.

There wasn't much else to do besides the typical places so I decided to just sit somewhere with a great ocean view and just reflect.

I found a nice hill and it had such a great view. I got to see ships come and go and it was nice and peaceful and while I do miss home i was glad that I decided to take this journey because I would be missing out on sights like these and I would of probably never meant Edmund.

"Thought I would find you up here" Edmund said as he came behind me.

"Looking at the ocean it just calms me".

"I could see why. Want a pastry?".

"Sure if you don't mind".

"No not at all I have had enough already".

He handed me the pastry "thanks".

"No problem. So what have you've been doing since I last saw you".

"Nothing really just sold a vest that I had in my bag because I was running low and then I came up here and been here since".

"If you needed some I would give you some I have some left my parents would always hide some in the house and they were in obvious places so I took some before we left".

"Oh no it is fine don't worry about it".

"Okay but just no more selling anything okay".

"Not making any promises but I will agree for the time being".

"Good enough for me" he laughed.
