Laying on the sand was so peaceful and it seemed that Edmund was getting rid of all the rum he had in his system. I let Edmund lay there while I grabbed our bags to give him some bread that we had left over from our short time on urch.

"Here eat" I said.

He ate his bread "feel better?"

"Yes very and thanks for dealing with me".

"It is no problem and besides I'm happy that you are not a stupid drunk and more of an annoying drunk".

He laughed "well I guess it is nice to know that I'm not stupid".

"It is nice to know for future reference if you decide to chug some many bottles at a time".

"Yeah it is. Since I am not annoying anymore shall we discover this island more since we have not gone that far besides the hut you have built".

"Sounds fun".

We walked around the edges of the island and stayed on the sand since we didn't want to risk finding something we did not go into the forest more yet. While this island was not giant it had felt like we have been walking for ages. The more we kept walking the more it felt like we were walking up a hill. After a while we stopped for a bit and we have walked a lot because the boat looked so small, smaller than usual.

"Do you ever think that we will find our fathers?" Edmund asked me.

"I do. I have hope but I don't know when or how long it is going to take".

"Yeah I just ... it is going to be weird seeing my father".

"Just think of it this way at least your father knows you exist" I started laughing.

"I am sure your father will except you and want to be apart of your life. If he doesn't then that is his loss".

"Thanks for saying that".

"Plus if he doesn't then well we can keep going on these adventures together because we have been doing good so far".

"We have haven't we".

"Evergreen and Edmund the adventurers".

"Just like our fathers".

"Yes but more different".

"Of course".

I looked over at our boat and realized once again how far we have walked.

Edmund must of noticed me looking in the distance at the boat "Good thing we brought our bags" he said.

"Yeah good thing because who knows when we will return over there".

"Shall we keep going?"

We got up and continued on. The sand was becoming more difficult to walk on but we kept going on. After a lot of walking we decided that it was time to venture in the forest. Mainly to see what was in there. I was a little nervous because there was so much and no idea what lies in there. For some reason I thought I needed a weapon to defend my self so I grabbed a stick. Once I grabbed the stick Edmund started laughing at me.

"What is a stick going to do?" He asked.

"I have no clue I just wanted to have something because who knows what lies in here".

"Whatever you think".

Edmund kept laughing at me as we approached closer into going to the deep dark forest. There were so many things that can happen in while adventuring but that is the fun part of it all. Well.... I guess. The sun was setting and and it was best to make a plan on where we would be sleeping.

We gathered leaves and branches and tried to make it as comfortable as possible. It was really hard to do but eventually we managed. We laid down and we could barely see the sky which sucked because I love falling asleep to the stars but I had to get over it. Edmund and I stayed up for a while and just talked.

"Do you miss the Dutchman?" I asked him.

"Sometimes but not really I like it here. I bet you miss it".

"I do but I agree with you I do like it here. It is nice and peaceful but I kind of miss being around more people".

"People would be nice".

Edmund drifted off to sleep and I just laid there. Then eventually I drifted off to sleep as well.

I kept feeling something on me... tapping on my face. I opened my eyes.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" I screamed.

There was a monkey on top of me.

Edmund woke up startled.

"What are you screaming about".

I pointed to the monkey that just was on top of me which is now in front of us.

"Oh evergreen it is just a monkey it is not going to hurt you".

"Well you didn't just wake up to it on your face".

He just stared at me "hey do you want a piece of bread?" He asked the monkey.

The monkey came towards him and took the bread out of his hand. The monkey then climbed up on his shoulder.

"See he isn't going to hurt us are you" he said.

The monkey then jumped onto my shoulder. I don't like animals on me.

I was in a panic.

"Evergreen just calm down the monkey isn't going to hurt you" he said.

"Hi little monkey. Please don't hurt me". I said while petting it. The monkey then proceeded to grab my hand. That moment made me no longer scared and just realize how helpless the monkey looks.

"Do you want to join us on our adventures?" I asked the monkey as if it was going to understand me. The monkey then jumped in my lap and I was assuming that it meant a yes.

"See Evergreen the monkey is not going to hurt you".

I smiled. The monkey then went over to Edmund.

"We now have a new member of our group" Edmund said.

"I guess we do. What shall we name him?".

"How about bailey?"

"Do you like the name bailey?"

The monkey just looked up and clapped his hands.

"I guess that is a yes. Welcome to the team bailey" Edmund said.

"Yes welcome to the team".

We packed up our things and continued on with Bailey sitting on Edmund's shoulder.

Edmund looked like a proud dad with his new kid and it was an amazing moment. Bailey then jumped on my shoulder and I was glad I got over it and felt bad for screaming in Baileys face earlier. I was frightened because that was the first thing I saw when I opened up my eyes.

Edmund started to laugh.

"Why are you laughing at us?" I asked him.

"Well I am not laughing at Bailey. Just laughing on how you were so frightened about Bailey but now look at you".

"I know". I laughed.

I then petted bailey.
