Chemistry (Otis Milburn)

I got home at around 3 am and Camille ended up spending the night with me, knowing for a fact that I wasn't going to wake up in three hours to go to school. I still hadn't responded to Otis's messages. I wanted to see him in person and confront him about it.

I woke up at 10:00 am to the sound of the blender in the kitchen. I went downstairs and Camille greeted me with the biggest hungover smile on her face while she was making pancakes. 

"No school today I'm guessing?" 

"No way, I'm a hot mess who's staying home." I grabbed a banana from the counter and started peeling it. 

"Vivienne are you sure you not going to school has something to do with Otis?"

"No! Of course it doesn't. We came home late from that after party, so I was not going to wake up and try to learn while running on 3 hours of sleep."

"Are you sure? Did you reply to Otis's messages? You haven't, haven't you."

"Well, no. I just don't know what to say. It's just so weird that he would do that. I know it's been a short while that we've met, but still. He's gone to a photoshoot with me before and-"

Camille's eyes widened. " You took him where?"

"To a photoshoot a couple of weeks ago. I just thought it would be a fun experience for him."

"Vivienne are you crazy? When was this? Why didn't you tell me?"

I was starting to get frustrated. "Why does it matter? I had a shoot after school and I took him with me. He had a great time and so did I so what is the problem?"

"Vivienne, were the paparazzi there? They were, weren't they? And they took photos of you and Otis leaving the car? He's well on his way to fame without knowing it because you're exposing him." 

I wanted to say something, but Camille was right. I'm putting Otis on a spotlight that he doesn't even want to be in, and it's only driving him away. I was only trying give him a good time and let him see what a day in my career is like, but now I was suddenly looking like the villain for giving him unwanted attention and potentially hurting him.
