TW: SUICIDE

"Miss. Parker, the doctor would like to see you. Did you sleep okay?" One of the nurses came in and greeted me. She was dismissive and I knew she didn't care whether or not I slept okay, so I ignored her. I got out of my bed and we both walked over to the doctor's office.

There was a new doctor today. He was tall and pale, maybe in his mid 40's. His dark brown eyes stared right at me as I walked in the office, motioning me to sit in the chair.

"You must be Miss. Parker. Please sit." I took a quick glance around the office before I sat down in the cold, leather chair. My arms were crossed together as I anxiously looked at him, waiting for him to speak.

"As you may have been aware, your 72- hour hold is over. I've looked over your records and your progress over the past 3 days is good." He puts on his reading glasses and shuffles through some papers. "The rest is up to you, Miss. Parker."

"I'm fine. I feel so much better. I'd like to leave please." I reply without any hesitation.

He took a long pause before he finally spoke.

"Miss. Parker I understand that you want to leave, but do you really feel it is at your best interest to do so? You had a suicide attempt and 3 days isn't e-"

"I'm fine. I feel fine. I'd like to leave as soon as I can please." I bluntly responded. I sat there with my arms crossed and stared into his dead eyes, waiting for him to approve my request.

"Alright Miss. Parker. Let me just provide you with some paperwork. You can contact someone close to you to come pick you up, preferably a parent or guardian."

That made me chuckle. I hadn't spoken to my mom in a hot minute. Ever since she had remarried she reached out only a few times, but I hadn't bothered to pick up. I'm happy for her and all, but it was time to part ways. It might have had something to do with me being mad that she didn't return my calls for a week.

I didn't know whether to call Otis or Nick. "Is there anyone else on file?"

"Otis Milburn is on file. Would you like to contact him? He is your emergency contact."

"Yes. C-can you call him?" He gave me a puzzled look before he began dialing.

My heart was racing. I didn't know if he was willing to show up.

"Alright. He will be here soon. Have a lovely day Miss. Parker. Fill out the paper work while you are waiting for him."

"Thank you." I nodded and walked out. Within a matter of one hour I was going to be free.

I changed into the one outfit I was wearing when I came here and filled out the paperwork, waiting for Otis.

After a half hour, a nurse came in and escorted me out. I went towards the entrance, and there he was. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a red jacket and a yellow collared shirt. He turned to me, giving me a weak smile.

I couldn't help myself, so I ran up and hugged him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my face into his chest.

"Missed me?" He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Very much, actually." I giggled. A wave of emotion fell over me. For the first time ever, I felt free. I had nothing to hide from Otis anymore. The weight on my shoulders and my heart was gone.

I was so excited to see Otis I could barely speak during our car ride.

"I was afraid you were going to be mad." I finally spoke.

"Oh yeah? Are you surprised that I'm not?" He gently placed his hand on my thigh, my body feeling hot.

"I'm really sorry, Otis. I know I've said it more times than I can count bu-"

"Vivienne. It's okay. You've gone through a lot, and most of it was because of me. You did all of that to protect me."

"But you almost died because of me." I whispered shakily.

"But I'm here now, aren't I? Yes I got fucking shot and almost died, but that wasn't your fault. I shouldn't have been there in the first place. We're headed over to Nick's place, so let's just sort everything out when we get there." He smiled and gently rubbed my thigh.

"How is Nick doing?"

"He's excited to see you, and he knows I know about everything from the letter. Are you excited about the movie?"

"I'm not getting my hopes up too high anymore. They're planning on recasting me because of what happened."

"Does anyone else know you've been discharged?"

"Not yet." The media should be finding out soon though. Sometimes paparazzi pulls up around Nick's area, so I have to be as low key as I possibly can."

We pull into Nick's driveway, but his car wasn't there.

"Looks like he's not home. Do you know where he is?" I looked around to see if his car was parked somewhere else.

"He didn't tell me anything, so I don't know. It's fine I have a key."

His house was quiet, and I missed the smell of tobacco and vanilla scented candles that filled his living room. I missed going downstairs and watching him eagerly make breakfast. I missed Nick.

"I'm going to go up to my room." I headed upstairs.

Everything was just how it was when I left. I shut the door and headed back downstairs. I didn't want to keep Otis waiting.

"I wonder where he is."

"So what are you going to do with your agency? Are you still going to stay with them?"

"This is the only one I currently have. I have to stay until I find another. I don't know who else has as great as connections as Amy's agency does."

"But you're Vivienne Parker, it shouldn't be that  hard. You'd find one in a heartbeat."

"Not when there's other, better Vivienne Parker-like celebrities that I have to compete with to land another agent."

"Come on, make yourself available for representation and watch these agencies flock." Otis was right. I had to leave Amy's agency, and so did Nick.

"I don't know, Otis. They're constantly proving how powerful they are. At this point, they're capable of anything."

We both were lost in thought when we heard the door. Nick was home.

"Vivienne!" He ran up to me, wrapping his arms around me and squeezing. "I missed you!"

"That was the longest 3 days of my life." I sighed in relief. "Nick, have you heard anything from Amy about my film role? Are they still recasting me?"

"You have to talk to Amy because she doesn't know you're out of the hospital."

"Text her now, Vivienne so she knows." I quickly grab my phone.

iMessage: I'm back. When can we talk about my role in the film?

Amy: It's too late.
