The Fighter (part 1)

I've always chosen to be the fighter.
Rather then to be a lover.
But you've given me a reason to change.
To see parts of myself to rearrange.
To see my hands as more then a weapon.
To open my heart and see what would happen.
Never scared to gamble my life in the ring.
Until that moment I first heard you sing.
I don't know what that one night would cost.
Until I was in the ring and almost lost.
I walked away from that fight the victor.
But for the first time I didn't feel like the winner.
So walking home my head was hanging low.
And somehow ended up where I first saw your show.
