Chapter 22🌿-Devil in disguise

KHAIRAT'S POV

"Hi Adda Khairi" the other two faced,devil in disguise,Zahra said walking into the room

I'm so angry right now that I'm not in the mood to deal with her shenanigans

"What do you want?" I asked straight to the point

She walked in and her expression changed "this!" She said before she landed her hand on my face,kan bala'i,she just slapped me

I held the place she slapped before turning to her "what the hell!" I yelled and just then Mamii and Ammie walked in with wrathful and disappointed looks. Mamii's was full of rage,she walked straight in and landed a hot slap on Zahra's face making her lose her balance

"Amma lalle zahra kin bani kunya,baki da hankali ne,how dare you raise your hand and slap this innocent girl, she just lost her baby for Allah's sake,your brother's baby" mammi yelled furiously.

Zahra just stared at Mamii before turning to me "Haba Mamii,has this girl bewitched you too, can't you see,she doesn't love yaya,she killed his child, she isn't good for yaya wallahi" she said in tears and my heart squeezed in pain,how dare she say I don't love her brother,I love him so much,and I'm pretty sure it's that other devil Ruma who pushed me but what,I can't point fingers at her unless I have evidence that she's the one. The tears just started rolling on my cheeks

"Zahra,ki batche min daga nan,baki da hankali,wallahi kin ban kunya,yanxu ace Ke ya ta ce, wallah you're not my daughter,the one I raised is kind hearted and good. And talk of who's good for your brother,no one can be better for your brother other Khairi. She's respectful, kind hearted, from a good family and is the best daughter in law any mother could possibly ask for" mamii added and zahra stormed out of the room.

I sobbed and Ammie hugged me,I hugged her back tight
"Shhh dear,it's all good" she whispers while Mammi stare from the other side of the room in guilt. I wiped my face and looked at her "mamii" I said and she smiled warmly at me. I stretched my hands out for her and she came and hugged me too "I'm so sorry my dear" she said her voice breaking down

"No,please,stop saying sorry mamii,there's no need for you to apologize,I should be the one apologizing because it's because of me that you fought with Zarah I'm sorry" I said and she smiled
"Don't be dear"

I was sitting in the room with Ruky and Hanifa,who apparently decided to postpone her honeymoon because I was sick but I kind of made them promise me that they would leave by tomorrow, because I don't like people staying because of me, because I'm sick or cuz I had a miscarriage, and I'll probably be discharged by tomorrow, like seriously i can't not stand hospitals I mean don't get me wrong,I'm doctor but I can't stand being the patient. So here we are,talking about everything and nothing till there was a knock on the door and Ayaan walked in. They exchanged pleasantries before the girls left us to have some privacy.

He sat at the chair Ruky was sitting on,close to the bed and he asked

"How are you feeling baby?"

I ignored question and decide to ask him a question of my own

"Where were you earlier?" I asked and he looked at me confused

"At home" he replied

" where were you with Wafis?"

"Oh at coldstone,we decide to get some ice cream before heading back home"

" who way you there with after Wafis?"I asked again

"Why are you asking me questions?" He asked back

"Ayaan just answer me before I lose my mind"

"No one" he replied casually and I nodded,I knew he was gonna lie to me,but the question that kept bothering me was that,is Ruma really worth it that Ayaan is lying to me?

AYAAN'S POV

I lied. I know,but I really couldn't tell Khairi about Ruma,especially not in her current state.

I only agreed to Ruma earlier because I wanted to know of she was responsible for Khairi falling down the stairs or she really slipped,and about the message she sent Khairi.

Surprisingly,she said she knows nothing about the message and I knew she wasn't lying. Sure,Ruma and I had our ups and downs but I really know her,I know when she's lying and when she's not.

And all in all,the talk with Ruma didn't help in any way but complicate the situation more.
Who is after Khairi and I,who is after our happiness, who is against US?
