Chapter Five . . . Peace Offering
Catherine's POV
I walked into work with a smile on my face. Just because the word work was mentioned was enough to make me grin showing off my white shiny teeth despite my stiff neck and my freezing shower I had to take.
Now your probably wondering, Catherine you don't have a house and are living in your car, how the hell are you freshly showered?
Well, I found a gym and payed a membership of a total of twenty five dollars just so I could use their shower today and any day I like. Occasionally, I have to work out and use their gym equipment but at least I got a shower.
"Well, good morning to you." I heard a feminine voice say and when I turned around I smiled at Kara who was sitting at her computer.
"Good morning, how are you?" I said chirpily making her give me a look.
"Good, you seem, happy?" She asked and I shrugged.
"I am, is Geoff in the office?" I had to talk to him about this whole A.H.W.U thing I had to do.
"He is not, but surprisingly enough Gavin is, and I think he's waiting for you." She said rolling around in her chair.
"Ha. Ha. very funny." I said rolling my eyes but stopped once I realized she was serious. "You're shitting me, right?" I asked.
"I shit you not lady, but I would watch out if I were you."
"Oh really, and why's that?" I asked intrigued.
"Because Gavin Free has his eyes on you, and when he has you in his sight he gets what he wants." She said in a serious voice almost like it was an intro to a horror movie, but that all changed when she busted out into laughter.
"Holy shit Kara, you just scared the hell out of me. I thought he was going to murder me or something." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh please, Gavin? He couldn't kill a fly even if he really wanted to. The only thing he's capiable of is accidently falling on you and then crushing you."
"Or annoying you to death." Another voice added and that voice belonged Lindsay. "What are we talking about by the way?" She asked acting as chipper as I was.
"Gavin has the hots for Cat." Kara said making Lindsay sigh.
"Poor girl, the stupid Brit is not going to leave you alone until he takes you to pound town." I laughed uncontrollably.
"Pound town? You can't be serious."
"I am one hundred and ten percent serious." Lindsay said before looking around and then turning her attention back to me. "Listen, I absolutely love Gavin, he's my fiance's best friend and practical brother, but that boy will fuck anything that has legs. Just don't fall for it okay because I already like you for going up against Michael with no fear and now you are joining achievement hunter with no problem. I would hate for you to fall head over heels for Gavin only for him to go to England and come back with a new girl on his arm." Lindsay explained showing that she did love Gavin but knew what he was capable of which was him being a man.
I turned my attention to both women who had a look of concern written on their faces. "Listen ladies, I really appreciate everything you are telling me, but there is nothing to worry about. I will not fall for Gavin Free. Right now we're not even friends, so if you excuse me I have and A.H.W.U to make."
I made my way over to the office with whispers behind me. "She's so fucked." I heard Lindsay say making me roll my eyes.
"I can hear you!" I yelled and Lindsay looked my way with wide eyes, but I only grinned at her before opening the door and walking into the office, chuckling to myself.
