Chapter Thirty-Nine . . . Alone

Cat's POV

It's been a whole week since I was in the hospital, and a whole week of being on strict bed rest.

I was going nuts.

To top all of it I haven't heard from Gavin, at all. I've called Dan, who never answered his phone, the hotel, and even the YouTube company who told me that he was too busy to talk to me. What the hell was that suppose to mean anyway?

I was going bat shit crazy over thoughts about Gavin and what he was doing. It didn't help that I couldn't leave the bed either.

I sighed as I finished watching another episode of 'Roseanne' on TV Land before shutting it the t.v. off. It took all I had not to throw the remote through the T.V. that Geoff happily bought me.

It was times like these that I needed a cigarette, but I had sworn myself away from the nasty things for the health of my baby, but that didn't mean I didn't crave one like crazy.

I covered my face with my hands and breathed in deeply.

Knock . . . Knock . . .

I took in another deep breath and plastered a fake smile on my face. "Come in." I said thinking that it would either be Griffon, Geoff, or sometimes M. to come and check on me, but I was completely surprised when it was none other than Ray.

"Hey X-Ray." I greeted making his smile grow large.

"Hey kitty cat, how are you feeling?" He asked as his eyes shot to my stomach.

"I'm doing alright. Still a little sore." I lied. I was in a lot of pain especially in my shoulder but I couldn't take anything to stop it.

"Oh I should let you rest then." He said and turned towards the door.

"No, Ray please stay." I said and tapped the bed gently using my good arm.

He smiled largely.

"Are you trying to seduce me while your boyfriend is away?" He teased making me roll my eyes.

God, did I miss him.

I missed all of the guys actually. I've spent most of my days watching the new Let's Play's and even the old one's just so I could hear Gavin's voice.

"If I said yes?" I taunted back.

He stood and thought about it for a moment.

"Good enough for me."

He climbed into the bed next to me and put his hands behind his head.

"So, hows my little niece doing in there." He said pointing to my stomach.

"Niece? How do you know it's a girl?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh Uncle Ray knows everything." He told me before getting close to my stomach. "Isn't that right pretty girl?" He cooed to my belly.

I felt tears form in my eyes.

"Are you crying?" Ray asked.

I quickly wiped my eyes and shook my head.

"No . . . well yes." I said with a sniffle.

"Why are you crying?" He asked sitting up on his elbows.

"It's just you are so sweet with the baby and Gavin doesn't even know she's been formed yet."

Ray bit his lips and stared at the sheets on the bed.
