Chapter Fourteen . . . The Date

Catherine's POV

I had my head phones on and was listening to music, editing videos, and anxiously awaiting my date with Gavin. When suddenly I was spun around in my chair and came face to face with the man that kept me on my toes.

"Hello love." He said as he pulled off my headphones.

"Yes Gavin?" I asked trying to sound annoyed but I foolishly broke out into a smile.

"Are you excited about our little outing?" He winked and I rolled my eyes.

"You pulled me away from my work to ask me a silly question?" He nodded and I spun back around and faced my work. "Go back to work Gav."

He quickly spun me around again. "Can you meet me at Geoff house tonight?" I bit my lip.

"I guess." I shrugged and he smiled.

"You are being difficult Cat." He fake pouted and I laughed.

"I'm sorry." I cleared my throat. "OH GAVIN I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU AT GEOFF'S HOUSE! I'LL BE THERE SUPER EARLY!"

"Gross!" I heard someone yell with disgust and found it was Michael.

"I'm sorry that I'm taking your boyfriend away, Michael." He rolled his eyes.

"Take him."

"BUT MICOOL!" Gavin groaned and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Idiot." Michael muttered as he left the office again.

"So, Geoff's at like seven?" He smiled and I couldn't help but smile back.

"Yeah, I'll be there." He looked around the office and when he saw that the coast was clear, he place a soft kiss on my forehead.

"I'll be waiting love." He said and walked out of the room. I bit my lip and sighed happily in my seat.

It was sad to admit this but Gavin Free would be my first real life date. Growing up I never had boyfriends or friends for that matter. I wasn't a loner, but I didn't belong either.  Was it wrong to finally feel like a girl for once?

I giggled at the thought. Actually giggled.

I jumped up out of my seat and did a little happy dance and squealed.

"Um do I need to call someone?" I quickly stopped what I was doing and turned to find a grinning Michael and Lindsay.

"Shut up Michael, she's doing a happy dance." I wiped a piece of hair out of my face.

"Actually there was a bee and it stung me." I shrugged but couldn't help but smile. Michael rolled his eyes.

"Yeah a bee." He turned to Lindsay, "I got to give my boy a ride so I'm heading off. I'll see you at home?" Lindsay nodded and they kissed before Michael was out the door.

"So I just walked into Gavin out there and it's funny he must've saw the same bee you did because he was doing the same 'happy' dance you were. You excited?" She asked and I nodded.

"God, is it wrong to be happy?" I said as we sat down in our seats.

"Why would it be wrong to be happy?" She asked and I shrugged.

"Because when you are happy something bad happens." I admitted and looked at the bruise on my arm.

"I don't want to get cheesy on you, but I'm going to anyway-" I looked up at her and she sighed. "You can't let fear get in the way of your happiness." I shrugged and felt my eyes tear up a little. "Great now I made you cry."
