Chapter Sixteen . . . Home
Cat's POV
I followed Geoff as we walked through the doors of his home, and even though I have been here before it still surprised me of how beautiful it was.
"I'm going to get Griffon, you can make yourself at home if you like." I nodded as Geoff walked away and instantly dropped my bag and stared at the works of art and family photos.
I stopped infront of one picture that showed Griffon, Geoff, Gavin, and what looked like Geoff' and Griffon's daughter.
I picked up the picture and examined it with a grin. This is what it was like to have a true family I guess.
"Hey Cat, how are you?" Griffon's voice suddenly asked making me jump and dropping the picture.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" I said, embarrassed and picked it up and put it back in it's right spot.
"Don't worry about it." She said but I still felt guilty.
"I don't know if I told you this before but your home and work is so beautiful." I complimented making her eyes twinkle with pride an delight.
"Oh, well thank you. I try to do my best." She smiled before adding, "Geoff told me you were going to be staying with us for awhile."
"If you don't mind of course."
"Oh my God! Of course not, it's nice having another woman in the house besides a child." She laughed.
"Well, I appreciate you taking me in and wanted you to know that I'm more than willing to help around the house and would also like to give some sort of rent." I watched as Griffon's eyes widened with surprise just as Geoff walked in.
"Is there a problem, Griff?" Griffon turned to her husband and grinned.
"Can we kick Gavin out and move Cat in, please?" Geoff looked at me and grinned.
"Sorry, but I would have to hear Gavin complain at the office and I don't think my sanity could handle that." He winked at me and I held back a chuckle.
"Awe, well I guess I'll have to deal with him for now." She fake pouted before turning to me, "Anyway, I'm starving so I was going to order a pizza, you hungry?" She asked me and I nodded.
"Pizza sound good." I let out a little wheeze and Griffon frowned.
"Are you sick?" She asked.
"Just a little." I answered.
"I'll show you to your room and you can rest up. Geoff order the pizza." Griffon ordered and I grinned at her girl power. Geoff sighed and started walking to the kitchen and all you heard from him was mumbling about why he married a woman who would only boss him around.
"What's that honey?" Griffon called.
"Nothing dear." Geoff answered with sarcasm in his voice.
"Yeah, that's what I thought bitch." Griffon said mostly to herself before turning to me. "Well, this way." I quickly picked up my bag and followed Griffon up the steps.
"This is mine and Geoff's room." She pointed to a close door on our right and continued to a room with it's lights on. Griffon sighed.
"And this is M.'s room." She said with a small smile on her face and I couldn't help but peak in only to be amazed at the mess of colors that seem to blend together perfectly and uniquely.
"You know she talks about you a lot." I looked at Griffon surprised.
"What? I don't even know her" Griffon shrugged her shoulders.
