Chapter Nineteen . . . Us?
Catherine's POV
The last couple of weeks have been awesome. The fans have one hundred percent accepted me to the Achievement Hunter team, I've been in more videos, the crew and I have become like a little family, and Gavin and I have gotten even closer as a couple, but most importantly I haven't received anything by the creepy stalker dude.
I was currently trying to build something for a Minecraft let's play, everyone was gone, doing what they usually do, and I was alone intensely staring at my screen.
I bit my lip and was trying to beat the stupid creeper that was about to blow up, when suddenly I saw a shadow behind me.
I rolled my eyes and continued staring at my game, when suddenly Gavin jumped on the other side of the couch.
"Roar!" He yelled and I never took my eyes off of my screen. He's been doing this for quite a while now after I had to prove to him that I wasn't afraid of anything after the Ryan incident.
"Really nothing?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Not at all. I saw the shadow of your nose and knew who it was." I smirked and he touched his nose.
"It's not that big." He pouted, and I paused my game and gave him a peck.
"It isn't but it does get in the way." I tease and he growled before pinning be down on the couch,on my back.
"I came here to ask you an important question, but if your going to act so sexy then I won't ask you at all and instead do this-" He began kissing my neck making me moan loud enough for the whole office to hear.
I grabbed his hair and pushed him closer to me. I felt him smirk against my neck before pushing himself up.
"Eager are we?" I gave him an evil look, but he only laughed. "Okay, okay. What are you doing for Thanksgiving?" I scrunched my eyebrows together. What kind of question was that?
"Well Geoff and his family are going to be going away, and I assumed you were going back to Oxford, so I'll stay home and order a pizza."
"No."
"No?" I asked confused.
"We are going to Oxford together."
"Huh?"
"You know Oxford where I was born and raised to the wonderful big-nosed, clumsy, Brit I am today." I pushed him off of me and we both sat up.
"I know what Oxford is, but why are we going?"
"Because mum really wants to meet you along with my ten other family members who are attending Thanksgiving." I blinked a couple of times.
"They want to meet me?" I asked as if he was lying.
"Well, yeah. I talk about you all the time, and my mum says to make sure you come or she will fly down here herself, and trust me she will." I ran my fingers through my hair.
"What did you tell her about me?" I asked and he took my hands in his before kissing each one.
"That you are the most beautiful girl I ever met." He looked at my hands as he rubbed my palm with his thumb. "That you are not only beautiful but smart, and funny, and also that you are the strongest woman that I have ever met. That you've gone through some pretty bad times and that you deserved nothing but the best and to be treated like a queen." I felt myself begin to cry and feel twenty different emotions, but luckily I was able to suck down the tears.
"What . . . what did she say?" I asked even though I felt scared of what she was going to say about my hard life.
"She started crying at first, but then she said, and I'm quoting this, "She absolutely, positively had to meet the woman that could settle her son down."
"Well, tell her that it wasn't easy." I teased.
"No, you can tell her yourself on Thanksgiving." He grinned.
"Are you making me go with you?" I said looking at the ground.
"No, I would never force you into anything, but I'm not having you alone on Thanksgiving. I'll stay here if I have to." I shook my head and gasped at the thought of him being with me instead of his family for the holiday.
"Absolutely not. You are going to go spend the turkey day with your family." I warned.
"Does that mean your going?" He asked looking eager for my answer.
"Gavin," I sighed. "I'm not good with the whole family thing. I mean, sitting down at a table for dinner, talking about your feelings and what your thankful for isn't exactly my cup of tea." I looked down at the ground but he forced me to look back at him.
"Cat, you have never had a family to do that stuff with. I want to show you what a true family holiday is about, and I want to spend many more with you. So say your going with me and let me show you. Let me take away your bad memories." I couldn't help but peck him on the lips and after I leaned my forehead against his.
"I'll go with you, but I can't promise you that I'm going to be perfect." I whispered and I heard him chuckle.
"You are perfect to me." I leaned back and looked at him surprised.
"We leave tomorrow morning, bright and early." He told me before he stood up and kissed the top of my head.
"What about work?" I asked.
"It's taken care of, just pack some nice clothes and I'll worry about the rest." He went to leave but stopped and smiled at me. "Pack something sexy." He winked before running out of the office like a school girl making his little Gavin noises.
I sighed and tried to relax against the couch but it wasn't working. I was so nervous I could feel myself shaking.
I wasn't the perfect girl to take home to mother, but I was sure as hell going to try my best. If it wasn't for me then it was for Gavin.
I walked outside of the building and pulled out my pack of cigarettes from my pocket. I quickly got one out and then lit the end of it before taking a long puff.
I thought about Gavin and the fun we've had these past couple of days, and I knew if I messed this up then we wouldn't be together anymore, and I couldn't take that.
It was too soon in the relationship, I know, and even though I wasn't able to say it out loud and to his face, my brain and my heart were loud enough and told me the truth that I never though I would ever know.
I was in love with Gavin Free.
