Yvonne Meyers had never felt more alive in her entire life. Everything seemed to be looking up. She could see a mind map of the next year flashing brightly in her mind.

She just knew in her soul that she was destined to have an evervescent year. Her excitement was bubbly over. She felt as if she would burst from excitement.

Harrisville was a 5 hour drive from her hometown. All that time in the car by herself had given her enough to imagine her life in the ghost town.

She had already planned her year. She would start her own vegetable garden. She would make her own food. She would take up painting. She would be content and at piece.

She knew that nothing would deter her dreams. Well, at least she thought so. She had heard the GPS stating that she would be in Harrisville in an hours time. In her excitement, she sped ahead without taking note of the ditch in the road.

In just a second, she went from utter bliss to her world being teared a part by the seams. Her left wheel had suffered a severe puncture. Yvie was not one whom knew much about changing wheels. Now, she just felt stupid. She knew that she would be driving for 5 hours, yet she never thought about how she would change her wheels.

In frustration, Yvie decided to look on YouTube for some answers. To her relief, there was weirdly, thousands of tutorials on how to change a tire. Though, one thing Yvie learned that day, was technique triumphed "knowledge".

For, there sat Yvie, huffing and puffing in the middle of the road, trying to change her left wheel.

Yvie wished someone would pop up and help her. She was beyond tired and it was getting late. For some reason, she could not get the hang of changing wheels.

Just when she was about to give up, salvation was upon her. She saw a car coming down the road. It came towards her. Jubilated, she jumped up and shouted for the driver to stop.

The car came to a halt. All of a sudden , Yvie became nervous. Her mother's words rang through her head.

"What if this man was a rapist or a killer?" She anxiously thought. As her got out of his car, Yvie grabbed the nearest object she could find, a spanner. Holding it behind her back, she slowly made her way towards the man whom was walking her way.

With a deep breath , she nervously spoke, " Evening, I somehow how manged to puncture my left wheel when I drove into the ditch. I've been trying, with no luck, to change my wheel. Could you perhaps help me? " as she spoke, she eyed the man.

He seemed to be about her age, maybe a few years older. He was tall in statue and somewhat muscular. He had strawberry - blonde hair and deep - brown vague eyes. He was wearing simple clothes and seemed to be very homely.

His first reaction after she spoke, angered her a bit. He laughed, shook his head and looked at her with bemused eyes.

Yvie stared at him angrily. After a few moments of silence he spoke up.

"Sorry about that, you just seemed nervous, like I was about to bite you. You are shivering like we are in the middle of Red Square. My name is Matthew Williamson by the way. " her warmly stated , with a slight warmth that reached his eyes.

Yvie stared at his out stretched right hand. Part of her wanted to trust him , he seemed nice. However, a bigger part of her screamed bloody murder in her mind.

Yet,she looked at his hand and felt compelled to shake it. So, she let go of the spanner , which fell with an alarming thud and shook his hand.

Matthew looked down at the spanner on the ground and simply smiled. "Well, let's fix this wheel of yours." He said as he picked up the spanner.

Yvie tried to contain her embarrassment, she knew she was failing miserably when she felt her cheeks warm up.

About twenty minutes later, Yvie having endured an unbearable silence, with the mechanical tool Matthew was using to change her wheels, the wheel was successfully changed.

Yvie smiled from ear to ear and had managed to suppress a hug she wanted to gift Matthew. Instead, she smiled at Mathew and offered him money in return for changing her wheel. However, he had refused.

"Please, no money. It was no big deal. So where are you heading?" Mathew asked after he returned her money.

"Harrisville." She replied, smiling. The excitement of moving to Harrisville hit her once again.

"Is that so? Well , it's getting dark and it's still quite a ride to Harrisville, so you better get going. " he simply said to her, a soft smile etched on his face.

Yvie got into her car, waving at Matthew before heading towards her destiny, once more.
