Yvonne Meyers let out a sigh of relief as she switched off her car. The fresh air blowing through her hair, a sign of good fortune, she thought. She immediately felt at home and at peace. The ghost town seemed to be floating amongst the decay and wildernesses. A smile broke free from her face. It was every thing she wanted and needed.

She had arrived in her garden of Eden. Her perfect place. Her heaven on Earth. Harrisville. The sun and already sunk under the horizon. The moon was slowly starting to peak through the clouds.

The sweet smell of the cherry blossom trees blooming around her, restored any energy that she had lost. She felt alive. Better yet, she felt free. Part of her wanted to run through the streets and release a crucial of joy. Another part of her wanted to just sink into the grass and sleep forever.

Instead she did the "logical" thing and switched her car on as she looked for her new home. The cottage she would be renting for the year was a quaint, three-bedroom cottage. It had a small kitchen and a bathroom. Decorated in both Victorian and late Rennesiance furniture,it called Yvies name.

The whole of Harrisville had that same feel. It had that picturesque Victorian and Rennesiance air to it. It seemed trapped in a time that it never quite fit in. The synergy that Harrisville gave off, gave Yvie goosebumps.

Yvie switched off her car and made her way to her new home. Her heart was pacing at an alarming rate. She felt as if this whole day was a dream. The night sky glittering above her made her feel like she was on another planet. She had never seen a night sky quite like the one she saw that night.

The owner of the cottage that she was renting had told her that he would be out of town for the first week of her stay in Harrisville. He said that he would leave the key for the house under the door mat.

When she reached her front door, she took the key from under the mat. She whispered to no-one in particular, "Here goes nothing." With closed eyes , she turned the key and heard the door creaking open. Inhaling slowly, she opened her eyes.
Wo
It was dark inside the house. Luckily , the light switch for the room was right by the door. So ,agerfter locking the door, she switched the light one.

By this point her anticipation had reached boiling point. When the light flickered on, Yvie let our a squeal of excitement. She started dancing all around the front of her house. If anybody could see her in that moment, they would think she was mad.

Pure joy was what was being showcased in that very moment. Every anxiety and fear she had leading up to this moment, fell away. She was in a state of true happiness. She was experiencing that emotion for the very first time, and oh, was it not scrumptious.

She fell to the ground from exhaustion. She kissed the tiles. She rolled on the floor. She cried from happiness. She cried and cried. It was therapeutic and comforting.

When she finally calmed down, she made her way through the rest of the cottage. She past through the kitchen. The bathroom. The 2 bedrooms. With each step she felt, her body come alive from excitement.

When she finally reached her room, she jumped onto her bed. Smiling at the ceiling, a tear managed to escape her.

"This is it", she thought.
