-----

Crying was one of the things Yvonne Meyers was good at. It was her talent. She was not proud of it.

She woke up that morning and simply cried. The sun was burning through her curtains and she was crying.

It was 6:30 Am. Ms. Lila and Ms. Pricilla would be at her cottage in a half an hour and Yvie was sobbing.

Yvie could barely move her body. She was anchored to her bed and her chest felt heavy. It took all the power she could muster form he soul to rechargeable for her phone and call Ms. Lila.

She could not bare the thought of burdening Ms. Lila and Ms. Pricilla with her trivial problems.

After 3 rings, Ms. Lila answered her phone. "Good mornng, dear. Quite a lovely morning it is. Why have you ringed me up this morning?" Ms. Lila asked cheerily, but Yvie could sense the underlying worried tone in Ms. Lila's voice.

Mustering all the acting skills she could , she let a fake cough and said coarsely, "I'm not feeling well, today. Please don't come over. I'm afraid I've picked up the Flu. I won't also be coming to work." She coughed once more, to emphasise how "sick" she was.

"Oh dear, how terrible!" Ms. Lila exclaimed, her voice however was imbued with concern. "Are you sure I must not at least bring you some soup?" She asked.

"No, no, noooo. I've already made me some soup. Please don't worry about me. I'm bundled up nice and warm. I have my soup right beside. I'm certain that I'll get better soon. However,I do feel a bit tired. It's the tablets I took for the Flu. I'm feel like I'm about to dose off. Once again, don't worry. Bye!" Yvie rushingly said as she ended the call. She let out a breath. She hated lying to sweet Ms. Lila. But, she did not want anybody to see her in vulnerable state, let alone dear Ms. Lila and Ms. Pricilla.

Yvie yawned. She did not completely lie to Ms. Lila. She was tired. She had barely slept the night before. Her mind had been racing with endless, meaningless thoughts. She had barely closed her eyes.

Now, she felt her body shut down. Her eyelids were heavy and fell down onto her eye. She felt her hearts pace slow down and her brain switch off. The tension in her bones melted away and off she went into her Never land.

She woke up with a start. She remembered hearing a faint voice reaching out to her to her in her slumber. She ignored it.

What made her wake up, was the intense feeling surging through her body. The atoms in her body were sizzling with hot electricity. She felt like she was burning up from the inside.

She looked at the her alarm clock, it was 12:30 . She had slept the whole morning away. Just as she was about to get out of her bed, she stopped dead. She heard footsteps. Not faint footsteps. Someone was in her house.

Panic swept through Yvie's body. She grabbed the closest object, which happened to be her alarm clock, and quietly got off of her bed.

Her bedroom door was open. She leaned against her wall. She was peering slightly out of her room. She heard the footsteps get closer. She saw a shadow enter the hallway walking to her room. Taking in a deep breath in, she ran out of her room with full force.
Without glazing, she continously hit the intruder in the stomach with her alarm clock.

When the person, tried to shove her off and called her year her name, that's when she stopped.

"Steven? What are you doing in my house. You! Scared! Me!" Yvie hysterically stated. She threw the alram clock in the floor. With each word expressed, she related a blow to any part of Steven's body she laid her hands on.

When the anger had finally seeped out of her body. She fell to the floor. Her heart was racing in her ribs like a wild lioness raging to be freed. She felt a trickle of sweat make its way down her face at a snails pace.

Her house was eerily quiet. Even the birds had ceased the daily humming.

After what felt like a lifetime, Steven spoke up. "I'm sorry about this Yvie. Ms. Lila has asked me to bring you some of her soup. I did knock a few times and called you house and cellphone, but you didn't answer. I thought something might have happened to you. That's why entered the house. In hindsight, I see that it was wrong. But, I don't know, I just-. Never mind. I'm truly sorry for scaring you." His voice was soft. Yvie felt the earnesty in is voice. She wanted to speak up ,but she was just so tired.

Without a warning, tears started streaming down her face. She did not know why she was crying, but each tear that escaped her tear ducts, brought her comfort.

She did not know when Steven sat next to her and put her head in his lap. She did not know when he started to rub her back. She did not know when he started to run his fingers though her hair. She did not know when he started to soothe her.

All she did know, was that after that incident, Steven Tarintino and her relationship was forever altered.
