Yvonne Meyers stared as the sun dipped behind the clouds, a sign that it was the end of another day in the majestic Harrisville.
It had been a week since the end of her relationship with Steven Tarintino. It had been a hard week.
The actual separation from Steven was not the hard part. She and Steven still spoke on a daily basis, as a matter of fact. What was truly hard, was being content with herself. Being just by herself and being happy alone.
The first few months she had spent in Harrisville, she was consumed with Ms. Lila and Ms. Pricilla. Then she met Steven Tarintino. She then spent the next few months fawning over him. Then she and Steven started dating.
This was the first time, since she stepped in Harrisville, that she was alone. It scared her a little, because she had gotten so accustomed to being with someone. She just felt so lost.
The irony of the her current situation was bitterly funny. She had run off the Harrisville to "find herself" , yet eleven months later, she was still lost.
She had no clue what to do. She was still trying to cope with her new found silence. She never know ewes how much silence bothered her, until she stopped dating Steven.
Silence was petrifying and perpetual. Some days she would sleep in her garden, just so that she could hear the wind, the birds and the ambience of the Earth. She found it hard to sleep in her own bed.
She sighed as she laid down on her grass. She was currently in her garden. She was trying her best to not cry. That is another thing she had been trying to get under control. Her tears. It seems ever since her break up with Steven, she had been more emotional. She just felt like crying.
Her brother was also constantly on her mind. She felt like his presence was engulfing her. She was happy about it. Yet, she was slightly scared, for she had no clue as to why her brothers presence seemed to surround her.
Yvie looked up into the dusty pink sky as the world slowly darkened around her. She had so many questions that she needed answers for. She just had no clue on how to answer them.
She just hated the feeling of being lost and in this state of unsurety. She felt like her life was just a endless images of experiences all bottled up in her mind.
She began to realise how disconnected her body was form her mind. She had all this pain that she hid behind layers of walls. She had tried to run away from her past, yet it seemed to catch up to her.
She realised that evening, that she came to the ghost town to escape her truth. She had not come to the ghost town on a limb. She had run away to the ghost town because she was scared of change.
She was going to University and it had scared her. All her life, she seeked stability, for when her brother had died, she had went through the most emotionally strenuous phase of her life. That experience had made her weak and scattered. She had promised herself to never allow herself to feel that way even again.
When she saw those acceptance letters nearly 12 months back, she got scared. The idea of leaving her hometown and being in a new environment, freaked her out. So, instead of working through it , she ran away.
She came to the ghost town, for she felt like it was a great way to hide away from all of her problems. She had not thougt about being in an intimate relationship with someone. She had not thought about forming relationships and friendships with the people of Harrisville. She had just wanted to escape.
She was certain, that if Ms. Lila and Ms. Pricilla had not walked into her house that first morning of her life in Harrisville, she would have just stayed inside her cottage and slowly decayed away.
Now, she was faced with her truth. Her truth scared the living daylights out of her. Now, she was left with the backlash of her choices.
She was still lost and she did not know who Yvonne Meyers was. She had not found her soul, nor in which direction her soul was pointing, yet for once, it did not bother her.
