----

Yvie looked in the mirror one final time before heading out. She was nervous. The weather seemed to reflect how she was feeling.

For, the sky screamed as the wind wailed. The clouds looked like they were inches away from bursting into tears.

Yvie had just gotten off of a phone call with her mother. As usual,  her mother was trying to get Yvie to come back home. That was nothing new. Her mother always did that.

However,  it is what her mother did not say , that made her anxious. Her  mother seemed so anxious to get the phone call over and done with. Usually, Yvie had to stop her mother and the end the call, before it went in for to long. Not today,  though.

Her mother spoke for less than an hour. She said what she usually said and ended the call. When her mother does not talk, Yvie immediately knows something is wrong. She just did not know what.

Yvie was speed walking. She foreshadowed rain would come soon. Luckily,  Ms. Lila and Ms. Pricillas' bookshop was not far form her house.

Just as Yvie turned into the road of the bookshop, heavy sobs fell from the sky. Yvie ran as fast as she could, straight into the bookshop.

"Phew!" She said as she shaked off the droplets that had fallen on her.

The library was nice and cosy. Yvie could hear the cackling of wood from a fireplace. The sweet aroma of hot chocolate made its way through her nose.

"Oh, dear, here is some hot chocolate and do take off that wet jacket, here is a warm jersey." Said Ms.Lila as she took off Yvie's wet jacket and covered Yvie's shivering body with a jersey. She then placed a mug of steaming hot chocolate into Yvie's hand before dragging in her in front of the fireplace.

With a scolding tone Ms. Lila said,"Dear, do not run in the rain! You could die of Hypethermia. Next time it rains, wait until it stops raining. And if it does not stop raining,  do not come to work. Your health is more important than some book. Understood?"

"Yes mother." Yvie jokingly said.

"Stop coddling the girl, Lila. We have too much work to do and too little time. As long as she is bundled up warm, she will not die. Come along, before mother goose suffocates you." Ms. Pricilla said sternly before sending Ms. Lila an icy glare. Ms. Lila simply smiled back.

"Now, Yvonne, I must admit,  this is rather tedious work. Mostly just a lot of checking up to see if books have arrived and so on. You will have to lift some things around for us and so on. But, we're only babysitting books, really. Not searching for the cure for cancer. I am afraid it might bore you a bit. Lila was adamant that you would love this job. Now, I am not questioning my dear friend, but as you know,  she is quite eccentric in her ideologies. So I thought , I might as well humour this idea of hers." Ms. Pricilla whispered to Yvie has she guided Yvie to her managerial office.

"Ms. Pricilla,  I assure you, I'm honoured and excited to work here. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else." Yvie warmly said to Ms. Pricilla.

"Well then,as I have said before. The job is quite a simple one. You have to check our book stock. See if the books we have ordered for the day has arrived. Place the books in the proper shelves and some other smaller activities. Lila is head librarian and I am in charge of the finances of the bookshop. Well,I hope you have a splendid first day at the bookshop."

With those final words , Ms. Pricilla left Yvie as she went about her first day of being a manager at the library.

Her time there, was however, more exciting than she would have imagined. It might her forget about the peculiar conversion she had with her mother earlier in the day.
