Courtney's POV:

But to my surprise, not a shot went off. I looked over to realize that WinWin had put the gun safety on. "What's wrong?" I said, looking up at him. "I think that's our friend Maritina down there...with them." He said, grabbing my gun to look through the scope as Mark looked confused. He gave me back the gun with a haunted look on his face. "Mark, they've got her. We can't shoot now, what if they kill her?" He said, panicked.

"Who is Maritina?" I said. "She's part of our group and she's been missing for a while..guess they had her this whole time..those bastards." Mark said angrily. He pulled out his walkie talkie and alerted Taeyong. "Don't shoot, Mark come meet us and Courtney you stay up there and keep an eye on us as we go confront them. If they try anything and I give a signal, shoot to kill." Taeyong's voice said, making me nervous but I agreed and Mark quickly went off to find Taeyong, leaving me and WinWin on the roof by ourselves.

I turned to WinWin who looked as worried as I did while I began to shake. He suddenly put his hand on mine, making me feel a bit more comfortable. "You can do this." He said in my ear. I turned to him as he grabbed my face and pulled me close, kissing my lips gently. "I believe in you." He said as he pulled away, leaving me blushing. I nodded and picked up my gun, leaning it against the ledge again as I looked through the scope.

Soon enough I saw Taeyong and the rest of the group, slowly making their way towards the other group that had Maritina. I followed them the entire way through the scope, becoming nervous again. If I made one mistake, it could cost several lives. I felt WinWin kiss me on the cheek suddenly before whispering. "It's gonna be okay baby, I'm here." He said, making me more focused as I noticed Taeyong walked up to the group, their guns pointed at them as the others stayed back.

I couldn't make out what they were saying but it seemed heated. I put my finger on the trigger and awaited what was to come but to my surprise, someone I didn't expect to see showed up in the middle of the argument...my father. "WinWin...my dad's down there." I said, making him worried. "Shit...what is he doing here?" He said to himself as I remained focus as I realized my dad had pulled a gun on the man.

Soon enough, the girl known as Maritina was brought forward by two of the other guys and thrown at the group, making me relieved that they got her back. I watched as the group began to back up, but soon realized that they would be heading back towards the building soon so I panicked, looking away from the scope and up at WinWin. "We have to go now." He said, already knowing what I was about to say as he took my hand, leading me away from the roof and to the stairs.

The two of us rushed through the building, knowing that they would be back here any minute and neither of us should be seen, especially not together. "Where are we going?" I said as we ran towards the door we came in at. "I'm taking you back home." He said quickly as we ran outside. I held onto his hand as we ran far away from the building and towards my house. By now the others should be back at the building so it's a good thing we were long gone.

"But what if you get in trouble for not being there? Won't my dad wonder where you were at?" I said, pounting. I didn't want him to get in trouble, especially over me. "I will accept any punishment for you. I shouldn't have brought you out here in the first place..it was a mistake..putting you in danger like that." He said as we walked the rest of the way to my house.

"I want to be a part of everything..it wasn't a mistake..and I don't want anything happening to you." I said as we walked up to the sode of my house, ready to sneak up to my room incase any of my dad's guys were inside. He stayed silent so I decided to speak my mind, stopping him in his tracks. "Why can't you have a safer job like working in a diner or a pet store or something.." I cried, making him hug me.

"I know Courtney..I wish my job wasn't so dangerous either..I just ended up in a bad place and ended up like this..it use to not matter to me so much, being in danger like this..but since I've met you and fallen for you..I wish I wasn't in danger all the time. I want to always be here for you." He said, making another tear slip from my eye. "Come on, go up to your room and rest okay?" He said, letting me go.

"Please..stay with me WinWin." I said, holding his hand gently. "I can't...you need rest." He said, making me pout. "Please..I want you with me." I said, getting closer to him. "Babe, you should really sleep, you've been through a lot today-" he said before I cut him off, kissing his lips. "I want you in my bed with me WinWin..I want you to hold me and kiss me." I said, still close to his face, making him blush.

"Okay..I'll go with you." He finally said, making me smile. I crawled up first, putting my gun up as he came in, putting his with mine as I shut the window and the blinds. I smiled at him and took my jacket off and my shoes, slipping into the bed as he looked at me. He quickly did the same and crawled in on the other side, holding me in his arms and drawing me closer. "I'll always protect you." He said, kissing my neck gently.

The stress from the events that took place just earlier melted away in that moment..but I knew it would all come back eventually.
