Courtney's POV:
I held tightly onto this mysterious boy in front of me as we passed through the city streets only lit by the moon and the dim streetlights. I rested my head on his jacket as I thought, is this a good idea? Going somewhere with a boy I didn't even know? Yet somehow he seemed so trustable. I can't believe I have been missing out on all of this, legit the first time I even really went out, I already left with a really hot random guy and I wasn't even worried about who he really was or why he chose me over everyone else in the bar.
But at the same time I kind of wanted to know. My mind began to spin around in circles as the bike suddenly came to a stop. I pulled my head away from WinWin's back, looking around to see we were at a red light and there was no one around to make any noise but the bugs buzzing at the streetlights above us. I took this as my opportunity to speak up as the light was taking forever to turn green. "WinWin..why did you pick me back there of all the girls in the bar?" I asked as I put my arms back around his waist and laid my head on his back once again.
"I was just drawn to you, I don't really know why, you just seemed different than all the other girls I've met." He said in a low voice as I listened closely. "So you've been with other girls?" I asked, pulling my head away from his back as I looked at him, growing more worried. "Actually no, no I haven't, I have never been with anyone before." He said, making my heart feel less anxious. "How have you never been with anyone before, you're really handsome and sweet and kinda bad ass." I said, making him laugh slightly. "I'm usually too scared to talk to a pretty girl. And thank you" he said as he smiled back at me.
I blushed before talking lightly. "You think I'm pretty?" He nodded and smiled. "Yes, very, my friends literally had to dare me to even go talk to you." He said as he blushed slightly. Before I could speak, a horn honked loudly right behind us, making us both jump in surprise as we realized the light had been green for who knows how long. "Hold on tight" he said as he waited for me to hold onto him tighter before speeding off, away from the angry driver behind us who quickly made their way around us, honking angrily. I noticed WinWin's hands tighten on the handles of the motorcycle as he tried to keep his temper.
Eventually after a few more miles, we came to a stop, making me look up to see a dimly lit path that lead to the park. "Here we are" he said as he took the keys out of his bike and stepped off, kicking the peddle to keep it in place. He gave me his hand and helped me off. "Oh, take the helmet off." He laughed as he grabbed my arm lightly, seeing how I almost forgot and started walking towards the park. I blushed at how his hand remained on my arm until I took the helmet off giving it to him to place it on the bike. I walked a few feet beside him as we began to walk down the trail. I didn't want to be all up on him because it would be super awkward since we just met.
Then again, we are already hanging out and we just met. "So WinWin, this is kinda weird isn't it, us hanging out like this when we just met-" I started to say before he cut me off. "Look the truth is, I got you out of there because some guy had been staring at you creepily in the bar and I just happen to know him, he isn't a good guy. No hard feelings, I just wanted to get you away from him. He always does this to random girls and I couldn't let it happen again." He said as he walked ahead of me a little bit while I stopped. "So, all of that back there..wasn't real..you don't think I'm pretty at all do you, it was all just an act.." I frowned as a tear formed in my eye, disappointed cause I thought a cute guy finally liked me for once.
I suddenly felt a hand on my arm, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Courtney that isn't what I meant at all, I do think you're really pretty and something inside me just told me I needed to protect you, I have seen so many people get hurt and I didn't want to stand by and let it happen again-" He said, making me cut him off with a hug. I pulled him close as I tightly hugged him. "No one has ever protected me like that, thank you WinWin." I said as I cried a little while burying my face in his chest. I felt his arms wrap around me and his chin rest on my shoulder before he spoke in a whisper.
"If you'd let me, I would love to get to know you better Courtney." He said, pulling away from me to hold his hand out. I grabbed it lightly as he lead me to a bench, gesturing for me to sit on it so we could talk. I sat down and began to admire the flowers all around us as he sat next to me. "So...what do you wanna talk about?" I said awkwardly. I turned to see him looking at me, making me shy. "Umm..tell me about yourself, what do you like to do?" He said, seemingly not knowing what else to ask. "Well, I usually never go out anywhere but I like to draw and listen to music and practice my shooting skills." I said, feeling awkward for saying the last part but realizing that was pretty much all I did, man my life sucked.
"You know how to shoot guns?" He sounded surprised as his jaw dropped a bit. "Yeah, my dad taught me how to shoot guns when I was younger, my favorite is a sniper rifle, please don't think I'm weird." I said as I laughed slightly. He smiled "Not at all, I actually know how to shoot guns too. My boss actually taught me how to shoot guns when I first met him. "Wait so who is your dad? Maybe I know him" He asked. At first I kind of hesitated to tell him knowing what my dad does but I felt safe with this boy so I decided to tell him. But as I went to speak, a gunshot went off...
