"Delilah? Where have you been?" He asked confusion surrounding his face.
I paused like a deer in headlights. Usually, when you stop talking to someone, you never see them again. Or even just pretend like strangers and honestly, with Aspen I assumed one of the two options would happen. If the alternative scenario of Aspen actually caring for me enough to talk to me again even after I ignore society for weeks I never would have expected I could avoid him this long. I didn't think I'd get this far.
His question didn't have a good answer.
What am I supposed to say, I avoided you for weeks because I'm insecure and positive you're dating another girl and don't want to get in between you and your happiness? Definitely not. I decided I would say something intelligent, something that clearly states why I did what I did.
"I- Uhm- and you- I- Yeah?" I spoke about my feelings clearly.
After the words left my mouth, Aspen's face said it all- and by that I mean a pure look of what the fuckery spread on his features.
His dark eyes seemed to stare through my soul as I shifted uncomfortably under his heated gaze. Surprisingly, he was less angry and more worried about me.
His hold on me didn't feel as suffocating as I'd hoped. It still comforted me and imagining leaving it settled disappointment in my chest.
As Aspen opened his mouth to respond, a tall blonde guy who closely resembled a model off Instagram popped his head over Aspen's shoulder holding my undergarments that fell on the ground, "Hey nice thon-' He paused when he finally saw me.
"Woah! Aspen be a real one and introduce me to this pretty little thing!" The guy practically shouted making Aspen let go of me to elbow the guy in the gut with full force causing him to shout curses and whine like a baby.
If my slur of nonsense didn't ruin the moment then thong lover over here definitely did.
Despite the awkward situation I was put in, I chuckled.
Whilst the blonde guy clutched his side, Aspen snatched the underwear and bra from his friend's hand and with a tint of red on his face he passed it to me. I blushed and hurriedly tossed my stuff back into the bag.
"So..." Aspen scratched that back of his head. Oh no. This definitely was not how I expected this to go.
"So" I responded smiling as if I was proud of my response.
Aspen opened his mouth again, probably about to repeat what I said before blondie interrupted again.
"This show is boring. I'm rating you guys 1 star on yelp for this lame shit." Just as blondie finished, Aspen thwacked him on the back of his head so hard that I felt it.
"Shut up, Ugly." Aspen grumbled. This comment stated a string of curses between the two before they started hitting one another. Just as things started getting heated, a guy more buff than blondie and slightly shorter than Aspen who I hadn't noticed before came in to separate the two. I sat back and flinched when blondie hit Aspen in the groin causing a stir of groans to resonate from his throat. I could definitely make him groan louder if you get my drift. Wait- no! Bad Delilah!
Nobody paid any attention to me as they were busy fighting until I slapped myself for my dirty thoughts in the face, a loud sound resonating from it dragging everyone's attention in a 20-foot radius to me. I blushed. Blondie took this as an opportunity to loudly whisper, "Mmm she's kinky too. I like it."
True.
This time, the other guy who separated the little boys fighting beat Aspen to whacking blondie on the head and I chuckled.
It took me a second to notice Aspen on the ground clutching his baby maker and when I did I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to help him up. An image of him and Serena flashed in my head and my decision was made then. I stood holding my bag and crossed my arms trying to hold back the massive grin trying to make its way on my face.
The guy who separated Aspen and blondie decided to end the show and lift up a complaining Aspen from the ground. Once he got back to his towering height, he glared down at blondie scaring him to the point of him cowering like a small chihuahua behind the peacekeeper guy. I should really learn their names.
As if he was reading my mind, peacekeeper guy spoke up clearly amused. "Jake you really gotta grow some balls."
After speaking he looked at me, his hand out and a big smile on his face. I shook it.
"My name is Colby. I'm sorry for my douche friends." I laughed and let go of his hand.
"Delilah." I quietly spoke back. It wasn't usual that I felt the need to be shy, but all these guys had so much energy that adding to it could be disastrous.
Colby's light blue eyes widened in surprise as he looked between Aspen and me.
He then pointed to me while keeping eye contact with Aspen, "Delilah?" Aspen nodded. "The Delilah?"
It seemed like my name sparked something in Jake as well because he then intervened, "Wait. You're Delilah?"
I was very confused.
Instead of responding normally I just nodded, scared to add to their energy again.
The shock on their faces changed to amusement as they turned to Aspen and began talking about what I assumed were very vulgar and disturbing things about me. Jake kept on laughing so hard at himself that he had to stop and breathe for a couple of seconds before he accidentally talked loud enough for me to hear some of it. I heard something along the lines of "Who would have thought you could get a girl like that!" and smirked after hearing that.
I felt awkward and confused at this whole interaction and tried to avoid Aspen's eye contact as everything was said. I could see Aspen fuming but under the anger, I saw a tint of pink splattered on his cheeks.
Colby's phone rung and he disappointedly quit bothering Aspen for a second to answer it. After he muttered a few responses he turned serious.
"We need to go visit Jesse. He woke up." Colby said to the two boys. The need to leave and not get into something that wasn't my business took over so I turned to leave just as an arm wrapped around me then pulled me to it, enveloping me in the scent of mint and something spicy. The smell of him was always nice, but this was different and I liked it. I had to hold myself back from smelling him and being creepy.
My heartbeat sped up almost immediately as I tried to keep my cool. I didn't even look in Aspen's direction in fear of him noticing how reactive I was to him.
"I'll visit him later. I have something important to do." Something? More like someone.
Aspen's voice right next to my ear made my breath hitch as the words vibrated through my ears.
Jake and Colby just nodded, their moods oddly not playful anymore much to my relief. They left walking down the sidewalk with people staring at them as if they were models straight out of a magazine. Must be nice.
The arm wrapped around me was accompanied by another, wrapping me into a hug. The spicy mint scent began clouding my mind making it difficult for me to form any thoughts around this man.
I could feel Aspen's nose nuzzling into my hair sending tingles from my neck all the way down to my spine. My cheeks felt warm again when I realized this was happening in front of anyone who felt like taking a stroll through the main street.
"I missed you." He whispered sounding like a sad puppy. My hearts beating picked up its pace.

I'm not sure who I want to be pictured for Colby but for now, I'm imagining Nick Robinson. At first, it was Colby Brock then I nearly put James Charles bc it cracked me up imagining it but now we got Nick so enjoy.
Also, the next chapter should be up pretty soon because I'm vv hyped about everything going on. Sorry for ending it poorly but I had a choice between ending it here or keeping you guys waiting another few days:((
Have a great day/night and thank you for reading.
