Aspen smirked and his dark gaze rested deeply on my own as I crawled clumsily up to him causing his eyes to brighten making it obvious that he wasn't judging me which was comforting.
The loud song on the speakers rung in my ears hammering the lyrics into my head.
"And it's all fun and games,
'Til somebody falls in love,"
As I reached around a foot away from him he gently wrapped his arm around me and pulled me up to him as I bit my lip nervously.
"But you've already bought a ticket,
And there's no turning back now."
To avoid any awkward situations I quickly pecked his lips and tried to ignore how soft his lips were as well as the boos of the crowd and look of disappointment in Aspen's eyes.
The arm Aspen had around me tugged me closer and his heated gaze got more intense as out breathes mingled once again.
"Round and round like a horse on a carousel, We go."
I closed my eyes again and he smashed his lips against mine and moved them in sinc with my own softly which make my stomach fill with butterflies. His lips were soft but the longer the kiss went, the rougher it got. My mind went blank wanting nothing but to get closer to this man. I gently nibbled on his lip causing his hands which had been resting on my waist to squeeze harder making me moan in his mouth.
Woah.
Before it could get anymore heated I withdrew myself blushing harder than ever. As I tried to move away the grip on my waist tightened and I was plopped then right next to Aspen with his arm unmoved.
It was my turn to pick who was next I glanced at the woman who got me into this mess.
"Rena." She glanced at me, giddy from the alcohol.
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare." She looked at me grinning with pride but the grin fell the second she looked up to Drake whom had just joined the circle.
"We're always this close, almost, almost,
We're a freakshow"At first I planned on a bad dare but that wasn't right, "You spin the bottle too." I said, just making us even.
Her eyes still hadn't moved from Drake even as she spun the bottle. It was like she had gone numb to the world around us and he was all she saw. My heart hurt for her as I watched the bottle land on some popular jock who played basketball.
The second I saw Drakes frown I wished I could take my dare back.
Rena didn't look unhappy, instead she smirked and crawled towards him seductively. Drake boiled with jealousy and guilt settled on me as Rena straddled the random guy and began kissing him. It had no passion. And I knew why she was doing it. To make Drake jealous.
Drake jumped out of his spot from the floor and ripped Rena out of the man's arms aggressively. He was furious. He held Rena with so much affection despite the anger he was clearly experiencing then turned to the guy.
"Never touch her again. Got it?" He practically growled.
The jock was trembling in fear and nodded quickly, all cockiness gone.
Drake then proceeded to leave with Rena in his arms.
He really has no fucks to give.
I sighed. There goes my ride. She was drunk anyways so I was just glad that she had Drake to drive her.
The game continued but all I focused on was that I felt Aspen staring at me. I stood up, avoiding Aspen's arm around my waist looking down at his curious eyes staring back at me.
I decided not to over think Aspen's actions. Over thinking only caused misconceptions and heartbreak.
In a situation like this I believed that Aspen was being friendly and trying to be there for me after what he saw instead of actually being interested. That kiss didn't seem very friendly. A voice in my head reminded me.
I always thought Aspen was a stereotypical bad boy.
Hell, I even saw him acting like one. He tossed girls hearts around with no second thought and had rumors of gang activity.
The one thing I knew he was against that didn't fit the stereotype was smoking cigarettes. But on top of his labels he was sweet. I would have never thought he would go out of his way to help someone the way he did me. A smile broke out on my face at the thoughts and I wondered if I would remember this tomorrow.
At this point there weren't many options for me. I wouldn't drive Rena's car home without permission, especially drunk. I didn't understand why I was thinking such sober thoughts while feeling so high but didn't mind as I continued to wander around the house without a clue as to what I would do with myself to get home.
My mom had been a business woman and rarely came home. And when she did, she usually was just trying to introduce me to some new man she was with who was usually way younger than her.
She wouldn't notice if you didn't come home for weeks. I thought bitterly, sobering up as my thoughts took me away from the high I previously felt.
Sad thoughts clouded my mind about my life and I decided to go back down and get a drink to ignore the pain I felt.
A few people and friends greeted me as I walked by and I just smiled in return.
I ended up in the kitchen in front of the drinks yet again and gazed over them all individually and decided to just grab more Smirnoff. This time I decided to do it properly and mixed some lime juice I found in the fridge into my shots.
As I lifted up the drinks which suddenly raised a crowd of drunk and high teenagers to cheer for me a large hand clamped over mine and I was met with the now familiar pair of blue and brown eyes.
"Have you not had too much?" Aspen asked with concern.
The crowd that had gathered groaned but quickly perked back up when I took both shots at once with my other hand.
Cheers erupted from them and I then looked into Aspen's dissapointed eyes.
"Now I have." I responded watching the crowd leave with relief.
He just sighed and grabbed my wrist gently, tugging on it dragging me out of the house though the back door.
"A-Aspen what are you doing?" I stuttered, stumbling behind him from the extra alcohol.
"How else do you expect to get home?" He brushed his hair with his other hand causing me to bite my lip thinking about how attractive that action made him look.
"I sense a rhetorical question young man" I muttered silently grateful for Aspen's thoughtfulness.
To get me in the car it required a lot of jokes and mind games, including mentioning that the only thing sexier than him was the interior of his car.
Saying that I wasn't tempted to get in for that alone would be a lie.
So now I sit inside Aspen's beautiful sports car and the radio station begins playing She Knows. The vibes of it kept me feeling melancholic as I looked out the window stuck in my thoughts.
"Where do you live?"
His question caught me off guard as I had forgotten why I was in his car for a moment.
I licked my lips just as he glanced over to me. "Its in Cadi Street. Do you need me to give you directions?"
He looked surprised for a second and furrowed his eyebrows. "I live on that street."
I smiled, but felt too tired to respond to him and instead leaned against the window yawning. As the bright street lights passed my range of sight I began drifting off feeling all the energy drain from my body and my eyes fluttered shut.
