There hasn't been a day in my life that I have been happy to wake up. Nothing about sleeping wasn't appealing.
It's safe to say I have never been a morning person. I once even beat up poor Drake once because I was tired and he accidentally stole the coffee Rena brought me.
But something in my pattern changed. Today I woke up jittery and excited for the day.
Without opening my eyes I sat and smiled reminiscing last night in my head.
Aspen was too good to be true.
Guys that look like him aren't supposed to have a good personality. It just isn't fair that he had perfection all around. His smile, his laugh, and especially the way his eyes light up when he's opening himself to you. I almost would think that I belong in an insane asylum for thinking I have a chance with him.
But he was real- and he was here.
Yeah you heard me. He's here. In my bed. To be precise his arm is holding me hostage and his hair is tickling my face. I have no clue what to do. On the inside I was panicking, but on the outside I pretended to sleep.
It wasn't easy to comprehend that my body was enveloped in another person's when before this summer all I did was hopelessly crush on assholes.
When I finally decided to "wake up" I peeped one eye open. Aspens eyes were closed but his mouth sat slightly ajar while he breathed lightly in his sleep. The piece of hair tickling in my face continued falling up and down as his hot breath fanned it away.
The lord had blessed my eyes in that moment.
Without him even being conscious, he managed to make me blush. I mentally cursed him.
My other eye poked open and it was then that I noticed the way his veins in his arm stuck out and the ways his bicep flexed.
Woah. It's moments like this that make me wish I had 20/20 vision to appreciate this man.
Without realizing, my lips stretched into a cheesy smile as my stomach filled with warmth. I watched the small freckles dotting along his left cheek. The frown between his eyebrows. The way his iris had one small dot of brown that looked like a freckle.
Wait... Iris? Sweet baby Jesus he is awake.
"I-I good morning?" I stuttered to him as my cheeks flushed.
My heart raced as I wondered what I was doing. Only lovesick saps look at people that way, Delilah! I mentally berated myself as the other half of me yearned to continue spotting out subtle differences in his face.
"Morning, Angel." He smiled warmly as the arm resting around me pulled my body on top of him. It was only now that I noticed he wasn't wearing a shirt. My eyes roamed anywhere in the room but to his chest.
Once his hands roamed down to rest on my hips that were only covered by his shirt my skin crawled with nervousness. I worried that I would do something wrong that led him running in fear of I, the crazy inexperienced virgin.
"Gotta blast." I stated before worming my way out of his warm hold. Running out of the room, I hoped my cheeks weren't on full display.
Scents of cinnamon mixed with syrup wafted through the rooms of my empty home. By the time Aspen finally rose out of his lonesome, I was nearly finished making the chocolatey cheesecake croissants Rena always begged me for. To really top everything off, I made a chocolate-cinnamon dipping sauce for them.
Usually ramen or a bowl full of nothing was my puny breakfast but Aspen didn't need to know that.
Aspen sat in silence watching me cook.
With powdered sugar coating my collar bone and chest, I turned to face Aspen with my chocolatey spoon pointed at him.
"What's finally got you quiet all the sudden?" I teased.
The chocolate dropped onto my cheek as I moved it back to the pot. The feeling of it falling down and onto my collar bone tickled as I cringed.
Aspen chuckled and before I knew it he was inches away from me. Our breaths mingled as the smile dotted his face. My heart skipped a beat when his hand inched closer to my face.
Tingles spread through my cheek once he rubbed the chocolate off. Cold chills went through my face from his hands. Losing any chance of my brain working from his closeness, my mouth bobbed open stupidly.
A cute grin took over his expression as he popped his thumb inside his mouth, sensually licking the chocolate off. This man is going to be the death of me.
"So uhhh." My brain went dead for a moment. "What had you so silent?"
The cute expression on his face almost left completely before he quickly dipped his head into the crook of my neck. What is he- oh. His tongue brushed over my collar bone gently as I writhed under him.
Before I could even comprehend what he was doing, his head popped back up high above my height. A proud smile flashed through his face when he saw my flushed expression.
"Sorry. Just trying to keep you clean, baby." He smiled innocently.
Oh you evil, evil man.
When he realized I was too caught up to respond, he opened his mouth again.
"My dad is concerned with my dating life. Nothing too big, Angel."
I wasn't believing it. Silence and him with me didn't go together so I knew something wasn't right.
"Not gonna tell me what happened, hm?" I grinned and innocently rubbed the hand he placed on the counter behind me.
The expression on his face completely blanked and filled with annoyance. His hand reached up and tugged through his inky hair. "My dad found out about you."
When I looked down unable to keep contact with his heated stare, his hand pulled my chin up to face him.
"Turns out my sister is worried about me. Apparently I'm dating a prostitute who got her friend to beat Serena up for being a worried sister." He said, always emphasizing the word sister.
A small laugh came from his lips when he seemed to think about the situation.
My face paled. When did i become a prostitute? I wasn't making that kind of money and that was obvious.
"What the fuck?" I muttered the only thing I could think of.
"What the fuck indeed. Now let's ignore the problem because that smells like heaven on earth." He stated before sitting down at the bar stool like a child being served at his birthday party.
Warmth filled inside me watching him sit inside my kitchen looking like he lived here.
Placing the plate in front of him, he dug in. Just as I did this, the sound of someone banging on my door echoed through the house.
Curious eyes followed me as I waltzed out of the kitchen, rubbing my tired eyes.
A smile formed on my face when is realized how much happier Aspen seemed. Without even realizing it, I wanted to see him happy every moment. For some reason, his joy was my joy.
Reaching the door, I pulled on the handle with a full smile and cheery mood ready to greet whoever was there.
The smile dropped nearly as quickly as it came when I saw Serena herself standing outside of my doorway with a hand on her hip.
