Hunt: Hey. Can you come over for a bit?

Xav: Otw

I didn't know what was going on, but I had to figure this all out before Sam started to get paranoid again. I had no idea how Novak knew about the bet, and why he was told I bet with Xav to knock Sam up, because I know for a fact now, that that is not how it happened. I was black out drunk, I know that for a fact. I hadn't been that drunk in a long time, but I was with Sam and I was trying to help her. The baby is coming in less than four months, and Sam and I are doing well again, and I'm not having anyone ruin that.

A knock on my door interrupted my thoughts and I went to get it. "Hey bro, sup?" Xav asked, walking into my house.

"Nothing." I decided to get right to the point, because I didn't have time for this anymore. "I ran into someone yesterday, she had some interesting things to say."

"Oh yeah, who was it?"

"Brittany, the girl I fucked at the beginning of the year. Remember her?"

"Yeah, she's got a nice rack." Xav replied, sitting down.

"She said some interesting things. I already know the truth, she told me" I lied. He looked a little panicked, but I continued speaking. "She is on speaking terms with Novak, which is rather interesting, because they spend their time talking about me."

He quickly turned pale. I knew something was off the last time I talked to him about Novak. "I know I don't talk to Novak, because I'd beat the fuck out of him again. So, then I thought, with all the information he knew, who else would talk to him? Who else knew all this information about my life? One person came to mind. That's it."

I stared at him. "Who?" He finally asked me.

"You, so I'm asking you once, what the fuck did you do?"

"It's not what you think, Hunt." Xav quickly defended himself.

"It's not? Because, by the way it sounds, my best friend gave information about my life to someone I don't like and then proceed to plot against me to get someone I fucked with months ago to try and ruin it for me. So, if it's not that, please set the record straight."

"We needed someone to replace you when you were kicked out of the gang. We needed someone who could fight like you and be able to get what he needed to get. It was hard to find a person for the longest time, but N found Novak one night and thought he was an exact replica of you. I tried to talk him out of it, but it didn't work."

"That still doesn't explain how he found everything out."

"Huh. One night, N and B were talking about why you left the gang. Novak overheard them talking about the bet I made with you and how you came over that day saying you knocked Sam up. Novak then came to me telling me all about what he heard. I was furious and punched him in the stomach. He was furious and told me he'd get me back and ruin your life. I tried to get him to fuck off, but he wouldn't."

"So, where is he now?" I asked him.

"No one knows. We've been trying to track him down for over a week now, but we haven't found anything. We're assuming he got on the Boars' bad side and they dealt with him. We're not sure though."

"You're lucky I'm feeling generous, because it's tempting to beat the living shit out of you." I replied.

"I didn't do anything," Xav replied.

"You fucking let Novak into the gang and now he's missing. What information could he had given to the Boars if the fucker isn't dead yet?"

"Okay, I understand why you're mad."

"Xavier, I swear to fuck if someone from the Boars comes after Sam, I will not hesitate in ending you and everyone in Riverside. You better get them to protect her at all costs. You and that gang do not want to get on my bad side."

"N isn't going to like hearing that threat."

"He should have known it was coming. I have no problem protecting what's mine. You better fucking find him and get this shit dealt with."

"Fine," Xavier got up to leave.

I walked with him to the door and opened it. "And another thing, Sam is to know nothing about this."

"Know anything about what?" Sam asked me, walking in.

"You have the worst timing ever," I groaned.

"What are you trying to keep from me now?" She asked, looking at both Xav and I.

"Xavier, I'm gonna killed you." I gritted out.

"This isn't even my fault to begin with! N hired him!" Xav shouted.

"Hired who, and what are we talking about?" Sam asked.

"The gang, Sam, the stupid fucking gang. She can't handle this stress Xav, we already had one scare about the baby so fucking get this shit dealt with. Now!"

"If you were still in the gang, I'd tell you to fight N for leadership, you'd be a great leader."

"Yeah, well, you might end up having to fight N for leadership. I swear to fuck Xavier I will not hesitate to protect Sam or my unborn daughter."

"Okay, what's going on?" Sam asked. "Since when are you not in the gang anymore?" She asked looking at me. Then she turned her attention to Xavier. "Were you the one to cause the drama with Brittany?"

"I've been out of the gang for a couple months now. Since I was released from the hospital. And this fucking moron here," I replied gesturing to Xav. "Got Novak mad by punching him and Novak promised to ruin my life and to come after Xavier, but no one has seen him in a week."

"What does that mean?" She asked me.

"One of two things." Xav replied.

"One, he fucked up with the Boars, they tortured him or whatever they do and got information out of him. The Boars now know about you and the baby you're carrying, which means you're both in danger if they want you." I replied.

"Or two, Novak has run off and is planning his own revenge," Xavier replied.

Sam stood there in shock for a whole minute. I watched as her face morphed into humour like she thought we were joking, realizing we weren't joking, the frown settled on her face, and then finally the horror. She was scared shitless. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you." I replied, wrapping her in my arms.

"You can't protect me yourself," she replied.

"I won't be," I replied.

She looked up at me from the embrace. "Who else will be?"

I looked at Xavier and he nodded. "Everyone from the Riverside Gang," I replied.

I watched as the colour drained from her face. She looked at me in horror, and then fell limp in my arms. I looked at Xavier as I picked up Sam, bridal style. "Fix this quick, asshole." I said to him, walking back into my house with Sam.

"Don't worry. We'll deal with it," he called out.

"You fucking better." I hissed.

How the fuck does this stupid shit keep happening to Sam and me? It felt like it wouldn't end. The worst part was, it was all my shit coming back to haunt me. "I'm going to protect you, no matter what," I whispered to Sam.

I gently set her down on the couch as I waited for her to wake up. I didn't think I needed to take her to the hospital.

I was right, when I told Sam you could never quit a gang. Fuck.
