I did end up firing that girl, she disobeyed me. I told her not to let anyone bother me until further notice, and she didn't listen. My hotel room started ringing like mad yesterday. I knew it was my mother or father, but right now I didn't want to talk to either of them. So, since the girl couldn't get them under control, she was fired. I told her I didn't want to be disturbed and I don't care of it's my mom and dad. I told her she would be fired if she didn't follow through, and she didn't follow through. I called the front desk and terminated her.

My parents started blowing up my cellphone, clearly angry, after what I'd done. But I ignored them too. It got so bad, I blocked their calls, so they would leave me alone. My mother was there when I told the girl she would be fired if she didn't listen. I guess my mother didn't believe me. One thing I don't do, is go back on my word. I'm now realizing how much power I actually have, as a Thomas.

I'll call and talk to my parents when I'm ready.

Prom night. I haven't left my room in three days. I haven't showered, I haven't eaten, I sleep and stare at the wall. Xavier has tried to call me, but I've been ignoring him too. I'll answer him at some point, just not right now.

I couldn't help but picturing Sam in that long green dress. I pictured her wearing the dress with white flats and a necklace I would have given her. Her hair would have been done in an elegant bun with braids around the bun. Her baby bump would have been visible, and this would have been the day both sets of our parents would have figured out about the baby. I wonder what she's going to tell her parents about the baby, now. Will she tell them I'm the father or will she make up a story? Will they even notice? I guess we'll find out if my parents come barging through my door. I chuckled at the thought.

My parents actually caring about something I did, made me laugh. They would be mad at the prospect of jeopardizing a future business situation. They could also try to use it to their benefit. Like fucking hell I'd let that happen though. Being involved in the kid's life or not, my kid isn't being put in the middle of some stupid business benefit. I refuse to let that happen. This child will be born innocent and will stay that way; my parents or Sam's will not ruin that. Fuck. I just might have to talk to Sam again.

My heart leapt at the thought. It's been killing me not to talk to Sam everyday, I missed her so much, sometimes I think too much. It's hard to break a habit that you have spent years doing. Everyday I have talked to Sam, all day we have texted each other. Almost every night, we have slept in the same bed. Once you realize you don't get to experience that again, it's hard to adjust without it. I don't even remember the last time we slept together. You never think it will be your last, you always hope or just assume you will get to experience more.

My phone rang again, and I ignored it. I thought it was Sam, but then I remembered I changed my number and she didn't have it. Well, shouldn't have it. I didn't know if Xavier would give it to her or not. When the ringing would stop, it would just start up again. This process went on for a few more minutes until I got sick of it. "What?" I barked into the phone, picking it up.

"It's about fucking time you picked up. I've only been calling you for three days."

"What do you want, Xavier? I'm busy."

"Do you regret leaving yet?"

Yes. "No," I lied.

"You're lying." He replied.

"No, I'm not." I replied. "How's Sam?" I replied, changing the topic.

"I don't know," he replied.

"Didn't you promise me to keep an eye on her? How the fuck do you not know how she's doing?"

"She pissed me off after you left, I haven't been there since the day you left." He admitted.

"What did you do?" I asked him.

"I didn't do nothing. She did. She told me what happened for you to leave," he admitted.

"I told you, I made the choice to leave."

"But she pushed you to it. You never would have left if she wouldn't have said what she said."

He was right, I wouldn't have left. But I'm not going to tell him that. I sighed into the phone. "Xavier, she's my best friend."

"And you're my best friend! I can't let her continue to blame you for everything that happened, when it was her fault. She did this, Hunter!"

"She didn't!" I roared. "I took the responsibility for everything that happened. It was all my fault!"

"But, when will you realize it wasn't! You didn't do this, Hunter!"

"Xavier, I did."

"You didn't threaten to keep the kid from her, did you? You didn't tell her to leave, did you? You didn't act like it was just you who would be raising the kid, did you?"

"Xavier," I warned.

"Tell me I'm wrong," he replied.

"It doesn't matter. Now go pick Sam up for prom, she deserves to have a good time."

"Hunter, don't make me."

"Please, Xavier."

"Fine. Only because you said please,"

"Thank-you. Now please stop calling me, I'm busy."

"Doing what?" He asked me.

"None of your business."

"You're in your room, moping, aren't you?" He asked me.

Cocky bastard. "No, I'm not." I lied, again.

"Move on, there will be future girls."

"It's not that easy, especially since this girl is having my daughter."

"You could come back," he replied.

"No." I replied, immediately.

"Fine, I have to go now. I have to pick up a stupid tuxedo to please you." He replied, laughing.

"Yeah, yeah. Let me know how it goes," I replied.

"I will."

"And don't give Sam my number, I changed it for a reason."

"Whatever," he replied.

"Have a good time." I replied.

"I will not," he replied.

"Put on a show for her, please."

"Whatever," he replied.

I hung up the phone, and stared up at the ceiling, again.

All I could think of is, that should be me.
