I felt my phone vibrate.
Xav: Go.
I got up from my seat, thanking the woman for the nice conversation and started walking to the back of the park. I kept myself hidden in the trees and watched the scene in front of me. Sam and N were on one side of the field and what looks like Novak on the other side.
"Well, isn't nice to see you again, Samantha." Novak yelled to her. I gritted my teeth.
"Oh, shut up." Sam replied. I smirked at her response.
They each took a few steps closer to the middle. "So where is your precious, Hunter? He didn't trade you over, just like that did he?"
I closed my eyes, come on Sam, play into his trap. "I don't know, why don't you ask his skank." She snapped.
"He's not with you anymore? Oh, poor girl." Novak taunted.
I gritted my teeth in anger. I could kill him. "It's not like he cared about me anyways, look at the mess he's got me in." I know she was saying that to bother me, and it worked because it was actually the opposite. I was madly in love with that girl. Madly.
They took another few steps closer to each other. "You'll leave us alone now, right?"
"Of course. You've given me what I want and now you get what you want."
They were in arms distance to each other now and I just stood there watching. This was killing me. "Hand over the girl now, Newton."
"No, please, don't make me go with him." She cried.
Good role-playing, Sam. "I'm so sorry," N said to her.
He released his grip on her and Novak grabbed her. The bastard. "Don't worry, I'll be your baby's father."
I watched as her face became devoid of any emotion. Novak hit a nerve he shouldn't of. Sam put her hands in the pockets of her dress and started fiddling. I knew she was trying to open the knife, and it wasn't working. "Come on, Sam. Come on," I whispered.
They started to walk away, when she finally pulled her hands out of her pockets. Novak didn't even have time to react before Sam had shoved the knife into his side. "That is for trying to force yourself on me." She took the knife out again and shoved it back in another spot. "And that is for trying to make me come with you." She took the knife out and Novak held his side in horror.
"You tricked me." He said.
"Sucks, doesn't it?" She replied.
Sam. Fucking run back to N like you were told.
"The Boars are not going to stop coming after you," he replied.
"That's where you're wrong." She hissed. "You're not going to die. You're going to sign a contract that will be sent to the lawyers." She leaned and whispered in his ear so I couldn't hear the rest. She walked back over to N and gave him the knife.
Xav and I came out of our hiding spots and bolted over to the fucker. We picked him up off the ground and walked into the woods. We wrapped his wound so we wouldn't leave a trail. We walked back to the headquarters and brought him to the kitchen. "You just started a war," he hissed.
"We didn't do that either. Because, you're bleeding out right now. If you want to live, you're going to sign this as the leader of your gang. Then we'll send it to your members, and it'll be the end of it."
"What does it say?" He spat.
"That you will leave Hunter, Sam and their family alone forever. For every generation, no matter what. It also says you will not declare war on us due to the fact we were protecting our own. It also says, the Boars will leave the area and never return. Ever again."
"I'm not signing that," He hissed.
Xav dug his hand into Novak's cut and he screamed in pain. "I'm not signing it." He replied.
Xav did it again. "I'm still not signing it," he taunted.
"Fine, bleed out. I don't give a fuck." Xav replied.
Neither of us tried to help him and he just sat there weighing his options. I looked at Xav in horror. This could end bad. Xav looked back at me and just smirked. I didn't know what he had planned, but I did know it wasn't good.
"Fine, give me the damn paper. I'll sign it." Novak finally caved.
I sighed in relief. Fucking psycho. He signed it and gave the contract back to Xav. He handed the contract off to someone I didn't recognize and told them to get it to the lawyers now, and for the lawyers to wait to hear from him before he did anything.
"Bring me to the hospital."
"I will," Xav replied. "I'll be back soon," he replied to me.
He got up and left. Novak struggled to follow him, but he eventually made it. I looked at the door in shock. Sam did it. We did it. It was finally over.
I picked up my cell and called my mother. She picked up on the first ring.
"Hey sweetie, I haven't heard from you in a while. How are you?"
"How much longer do you have in Connecticut, mom?" I asked her.
"A few months, why?" She asked me.
"I want to come out. Now." I replied.
"For how long?"
"Permanently."
"What about Sam, sweetheart?" My mom asked me.
I forced myself to hold in the tears I wanted to let fall freely. "She'll be fine, mom. I'll arrange something with my teachers for exams, but I want to come. Please mom." I begged.
"Okay, sweetie. I'll get your father to arrange the jet. I'll call to talk to your teachers, you go pack."
"Thanks mom," I replied.
"Whatever is going on with Sam sweetie, you two will work it out. You always do."
I hung up the call.
No mom, I don't think it will this time.
