"You're not capable of completing this task alone," Earth snapped. "Wind?"

The wind manipulator turned from his video game. "Yeah? What's up?"

"Go with Lightning on this mission. Make sure he doesn't do anything rash."

"On it!" Wind left the console, leaving Fire to fend off the enemies by himself. He lost in a matter of seconds.

Fire yelled in annoyance. Before he could start a rampage, Leaf hopped in and filled in for Wind's absence. They didn't need Fire chewing through his console again. They costed a lot.

Lightning growled. "I don't need anyone to babysit me. Especially not Wind!"

Earth shook his head. "I'm sorry, but it's for the best."

"How come I'm the only one that needs a partner? Light doesn't! Neither does Water or Fire or Wind! Hell, you let Leaf take on a horde of murderers by himself!"

"It's for your own good."

"FUCK YOU!" Lightning stormed out the house, with Wind following him with a spring in his step. Here they go again.

The door closed with a slam, almost hitting Wind straight in the face. Wind shuddered lightly before re-opening the door and left the house.

Earth sighed. He didn't like to force partnership on anyone else if he could help it, but Lightning was a walking time bomb. After what had happened when they were younger, he couldn't risk him turning into Thunderstorm against them.

Of course, Lightning had forgotten about the kidnapping his incident and his second tier. All of them had hid it from him, especially the fact that he had a more powerful form.

Admittedly, this caused them a lot of problems. The other six had to revert to their base status, which was a pain when it came to team fighting. The problem could be solved by Quake summoning a golem or Solar's signature attack, but when Lightning's here, they can't summon their second tiers without raising questions.

Once Lightning and Wind were out of proximity, the others breathed a sigh of relief and let their second tiers surface. Soon Blaze was running around the house with Thorn using their powers like crazy, with Ice behind them extinguishing the flames that they caused.

Solar adjusted his visors. "Why can't we just tell him that we have second tiers?"

Quake shook his head. "You don't know what he was like when we were younger. If he knew, he'd stop at nothing to achieve it."

Lightning was beyond pissed. Having Wind bounce next to him repeatedly only worsened his mood. Glancing at the mission on his phone, he groaned and glared at the road ahead of him.

Why can't he be alone? Why was he the only one shoved with a partner? Everyone else had the right of solo missions but him, despite his perfect missions and efficiency.

"Are we there yet?" Wind asked.

Lightning's calm demeanor cracked. Sparks of lightning erupted from his skin.

"Ask that one more time," he threatened, jabbing at Wind's chest, "and I will personally poke your eyes out."

The tracker blared red. The shops in front of them exploded, debris raining over the citizens. In an instant, he sped to bring the citizens to safety, barely accomplishing the feat as Wind didn't have the reaction time to assist. When the last little girl was safely evacuated, the villain had risen from his hiding spot. It was a monster which skin was made of metal, electricity bouncing off its hide. It resembled a lion but in the size of a house, made of iron and its eyes flashing ice blue.
