Not My Fault

"I'm sick of you, Hali. I really am. Why do you think you're so much better? Why do you think you can hide everything from us?" Quake demanded, his body tensed, fists clenching. "Every time you try, it always goes wrong. So you suffer. So you are in pain. So you're immortal and every villain out there is trying to fuck you. I don't care. Every time another one of your secret leaks and it's always me and the others who have to adjust to your consequences and cater to your needs. I'm tired, Thunderstorm. Of you."

Thunderstorm levelled his glare at Quake, voicing his opinion, but Quake cut him off. "Don't go all high and mighty on me. Don't start giving me another excuse or victimize yourself all over again and guilt trip me. It won't work, so you can stop trying."

"You really think I want this to happen? Huh?" Thunderstorm scorched back, anger flaring. He waved his arm around, gesturing to the ground around them. "Look at this. We're in a world none of us can control. We are puppets on strings. You want to know why I always get it the worst and act like some emo anime character or Nico di Angelo from Heroes of Olympus? You want to know why I die every three days or get some sickness that kills one of you instead of me with the cure of a true love's kiss? It's not my fault, you walking rock!"

Scarlet coughed behind his laptop screen, then looked around in search of the one who was cursing his name. When he found no one, he turned back to his keyboard and continued to murder the same character for the millionth time.
