"In case you haven't noticed, we're literally going to die," Yaya scorned. "If we don't find the traitor soon, we'll all be shot dead!"
"Who can even do such a thing?" Boboiboy frowned. "I understand attacking, but sending a spy is low. Take that from someone who travelled into a belly of a flying whale pretending that I was scrap prawns."
Fang grimaced. That was too much of a detail that they would rather he leave out in his sense of elaborating. Besides, his body language masked his emotion well. If his cover was blown, his superiors will literally flame at him for half an hour. It was something he would rather not get himself into.
Being one of the potent teams, suspicion was not likely to form. If anything, Gopal seemed more of a spy than anyone else. He was overly dramatic and paranoid of everything and somehow manages to screw up every taken mission.
He glanced at the cafeteria clock. They had approximately five minutes before the admiral would go berserk. It gave him enough time to contemplate for his latest mission: Kidnapping Boboiboy.
They literally just gave him a simple order that involved abducting the most powerful individual in the galaxy. It was as bland as it sounds. There was no way he would be able to sweet-talk him or convince him into going with him. In the end, it's going down to battle.
Boboiboy's trust could be manipulated, but he was sharp. Ever since he experienced Vargoba, his instincts were spot on and accurate. Fang was threading on thin ice.
They told him to complete the mission within today. However, two major dilemmas obscured his path. The first being his team standing by at all times; the other posing as the mere issue of getting Boboiboy to come with him. If Fang's organization were to destroy TAPOPS, they would have to dispose of the element manipulator.
Fortunately, Fang had been studying his routine. Three minutes before the admiral's rampage, Boboiboy would leave and use the toilet. As expected, he rose from his seat and turned towards the door. Fang shot from his chair, startling Gopal next to him. This was his chance!
He tried to make his footsteps inaudible. Boboiboy didn't look back, but Fang feared that he would be discovered. He had one chance, and he couldn't afford to screw it up.
"Hey, Boboiboy!" Fang accosted him before he entered. "Have a minute?"
Boboiboy looked sceptical. "Uh, what's so important that you can't wait five minutes?"
"How does your watch work?" Fang asked. "Like, if, every personality represents an element, how does it decide which belongs to which? Can I try it on?"
Boboiboy cocked an eyebrow, but shrugged. "I suppose it can't hurt," he murmured, removing the watch. He handed it to Fang. "Try not to blow anything up."
Fang glanced at Boboiboy's power watch in his hand and back to the male. Raising his fist, he summoned his shadow powers and restrained him. Boboiboy attempted to scream, so he gagged him with his powers.
"I'm sorry, but you're in my way." Fang's eyes shone darkly.
A blanket of shadows veiled them and they teleported into his ship. Making sure that Boboiboy was unable to fight back, he powered up the ship and made his way towards his organization.
Boboiboy thrashed around. He tried to scream, but with the gag, he was rendered voiceless.
Fang couldn't say he felt any nostalgia for him or TAPOPS, but he didn't enjoy it, either. He'd destroyed the lie of a life that he'd worked so hard to create. Even if it was a façade, a curtain over their eyes, it still took time and hard work to accomplish a certain level of trust.
Alarms blared from the station. Instantly, war ships were sent in his direction. They must have gotten a memo. He swerved his ship left and they were hot on his tail. Calling for backup, Fang turned to Boboiboy and removed his gag.
"You tell them to back off or I'll end your life!" Fang threatened.
Boboiboy blinked at him, then rolled his eyes. He scoffed as red lightning severed the shadow ropes that were tying him.
Fang frowned. "Didn't I—"
"Yikes!" Boboiboy sneered. "Surprised? Actually, I am. I didn't expect this to be my grand escape plan. I was thinking more of a... less flash smuggling."
"You're also working for APSHU?" Fang pointed an accusing finger at him. "That's why you didn't call me out?"
"Well, duh." Boboiboy pushed him out of the main chair and took over piloting. "Move aside. You're doing this wrong."
"This is my ship!"
"And I'm more powerful than you. Shut up or I throw you into space."
Fang scowled. It was as if Boboiboy's personality had been altered by someone who clearly wanted him to be a total ass.
"How did you even pull a blindfold over everyone's eyes?" Fang demanded.
Boboiboy shrugged. The ship quivered as an explosion occurred nearby. "As you said—my watch alters my personality. As long as I wear it, I'm some no-good diabetes-inducing cinnamon bun. My powers come from somewhere else. If I'm not mistaken, the same goes for you and your watch. Didn't you take it off and you turned into a sadist?"
Fang chuckled nervously and rolled his eyes in exaggeration. Guess that's one trait they shared from the only super-powered members in APSHU. You can't be too careful when it comes to your unique abilities. He then remembered how he screwed up his self-dignity with this personality and tossed his false watch off his wrist.
"From how we're going, we're not going to make it out in one piece." Fang squinted at the panels. He suddenly craved the image of burning flesh and blood. "Could you stall them until backup arrives?"
"Could you shut the fuck up and let me concentrate?" Boboiboy paused. "Yeah. We need a plan. Do you have any?"
The raven-haired male turned to the hanger. "Set the ship in camouflage. It keeps the ship stationary, but we can fend them off ourselves. Is there any point hiding anymore?"
Boboiboy stared at him. Again, Fang was both intrigued and annoyed by those eyes. They looked like he was going to kill you or burst into laughter at any moment, which both he did not appreciate. One being it's too cute to refuse his demands, the other being it's releasing silent bloodlust that could be unnoticed by the untrained eye and mind.
He tossed Boboiboy his helmet. The brunette removed his cap and orange jacket, leaving only the turtleneck shirt on. Fang removed his glasses and sleeveless cloaked jacket, also leaving his sleeveless turtleneck. Simultaneously, they equipped their space helmets and opened the hanger. Before they jumped off, they tossed the jackets, the cap, and the glasses into space as they used their powers to destroy TAPOPS's pursuing fleets.
