"A dragon?"
The commander nodded at their escalation of reactions, but expressed no outrageous restrictions. The group of five stared at the holographic display of the supposed mythical creature, its pose majestic and unwavering, despite being a mere projection.
In spite of the supposed myth coming alive, they weren't as surprised as they originally thought they would be. Compared to space pirates trying to murder them every given turn, an overgrown lizard that could breathe fire seemed tame and mundane.
"To be more specific, we call this species Draconic Reptillians," the commander added coolly, seated on his chair with a heavy ease. "We've located one on your planet, Earth, and I want your team to find and attempt to recruit it."
"So we're going around recruiting people now?" Boboiboy quizzed. "I don't think this is a good idea."
"Since when do you think that this is a bad idea? With all the threats coming along, we're going to need the help," Ying quipped, hands gesturing to prove her point. "But how are we going to find it? If it's on Earth, don't you think it's going to be hostile?"
"This species is regularly passive unless provoked, and they're fairly easy to convince if given the right motive." The commander laced his stumpy fingers. "We don't get many opportunities. This species had always been involved in war and has always been a great help. This could boost our efficiency in missions, especially if we receive another attack."
The team weren't particularly thrilled, but they were excited to see a dragon in real life. However, if it were to reside on Earth, it might pose a threat to harmless civilians. They weren't certain whether if it might pose a threat, but if all goes awry, they might be able to subdue the danger.
With a command and a thumbs up, they were given access to their ship, and return to Earth with a mission at hand.

The cave wasn't particularly large, but it was hidden and tucked away from the city. Trees sprouted in their emerald glory, the flowers bloomed in crystal-like petals. The sky was sapphire blue, indicating that it was night, which the stars twinkled like gems, the crescent moon pouring a rain of silver to the ground.
The entrance was dark, veiled by a curtain of vines, with streams of water running along the cave floor, the water sparkling like sapphires.
"This," Yaya breathed, "is not possible."
Fang pushed past a curtain of vines, the flora's stem soft yet sturdy under his touch. "Dragons have powers that even science can't comprehend. Come on. Let's get this over with."
The team nodded with hesitance, but Boboiboy did not. They followed the shadow manipulator's footsteps, threading on the stone lightly, every step echoing amongst the walls.
Drips of water resonated with air, from the ceiling to the streams below them. The cave wasn't large, but it was long and narrow. The further they entered, the more magical the place seemed. Stones started giving off a luminescence of jade and diamonds, the rocks turning translucent, reflecting moonlight that originated from the end.
The streams are leading somewhere, Fang noticed. Maybe that's how the dragon drinks? What do they eat? Please don't let it be human. Wait. He's not human. Never mind then.
The journey was silent, but they daren't break it. The air around here was magical, like a speck of sound would destroy it. Eventually, they arrived at the end, where the tunnel stretched out and revealed them a clearing, a place where the interior was like a dome, but there was no hole on the ceiling, only jade-like stone.
How? If it wasn't from outside, where did the light come from?
"Hello?" Gopal squeaked, his reedy voice echoing. "Is anyone home?"
"Looks like it's deserted," Boboiboy said. "Maybe the commander got the wrong information."
"This seems authentic," Ying reasoned, brushing her hand against the wall. It was cold and smooth like real jade. "I think we should look around. The commander says it's not hostile, is it?"
"I found it!" Yaya exclaimed, floating in air at the very center of the cave. The group quickly ran to her designated area. It was an altar, with ancient yet clean, old yet sheened steps, all grey with the patterns of jade.
And at the very center was a filled pool, with golden aura swimming inside the water's dormant currents. They didn't stir up the water, but the light they gave off bounced off the creature's skin, who was dormant at the very bottom, its white scales reflecting gold, curled up peacefully as if it was asleep.
"Woah," Fang muttered, biting his tongue. This was unexpected. "Do you think it's even awake?"
"I don't think so," Ying whispered. "I never really thought I'd see something like this in my life. We've fought aliens but this..." She took in a sharp breath. "This is different."
The water stirred, and all their hearts skipped a beat. They watched as the dragon started to move, the tail uncurling, its wings unfolding as its head craned up, but it wasn't looking in their direction. It was looking straight up, its eyes closed.
With a flap of its wings, it shot from the pool, but the water didn't react to its sudden movement. It must be part of its power. They backed off as the dragon landed on the altar, its wings spread and fangs baring at them, its light blue eyes glowing in the dark.
"You shouldn't have come," it growled, but the voice wasn't coming from him, but behind them. Bewildered, they whirled around, only to see their elemental manipulator standing at the entrance, his eyes glowing the same shade as the dragon's. "You are not welcome here."
"What?" Yaya cried. "That dragon is controlling Boboiboy!"
Boboiboy growled, parallel to the dragon's movements. In an instant, he transformed into Boboiboy Ice and knelt, using his icy hand to turn the cave into an Iceland, freezing the floor, walls, reaching up to the ceiling, and had sealed the entrance as well.
On a lighter note, Gopal tripped on air and fell on his face.
"Hey! Stop that!" Fang shouted. His powers were useless here, since there were no shadows to manipulate here. "Boboiboy, snap out of it!"
Words proved to be futile, as arrows started to rain down from Ice's bow, altogether missing the dragon. The rest of them improvised, scattering to dodge the ice elemental's attack.
Ying skittered across the cave, feet screeching against the ice floor. "Fang! Can dragons control minds?"
"I don't think so!" Fang cried, supporting his balance by holding onto the freezing wall, which didn't assist his current predicament. "Still, we have limited source on information on dragons, so I don't know what we're dealing with!"
"Sometimes, I don't know how I put up with you guys," Boboiboy said, stopping his attacks. He stood at the center of the cave, holding his bow by his side. "I've been residing here for eons, but only now did you think to question."
"Eons?" Yaya demanded. "We've lived here for our entire lives! How can we not know of such a place?"
Fang glanced at the altar, though it was now coated with ice, but the water remained unaffected, remaining dormant as usual. The light hadn't come from outside, but it had to come from here. He'd heard legends of different types of dragons, and how they affected the universe's algorithms and helped shape each planet's course.
The light came from the dragon itself.
But that can't...
"Boboiboy isn't under its control," Fang thought aloud, achieving the others' attention.
"Then what is he doing?" Gopal shrieked, shivering from the cold.
Fang turned to his friends, expression dire. Boboiboy seemed to notice his realization, head tilted and a grin quirked at his lips.
"Boboiboy is the dragon."
