Niamha wiped the tears from her eyes as she laughed at Landon. She was pretty sure she was going to have serious laugh lines from all the laughing she was doing. As her laughs turned into giggles, she couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face when she saw him watching her. She dared to look in his eyes and saw adoration, compassion, lust, hope, trust and true love shinning thru. She blushed and lowered her gaze as she remembered the first time he ever said those words to her. She felt some fleeting sense of hope deep down inside of her, but she knew that once he found out about her little secret he wouldn’t want her. She looked up when she heard his phone go off. He picked it up and his handsome face became contorted with a look of displeasure. She didn’t know who was calling, but she wished she could find them and beat them to a bloody pulp for taking away his breathtaking smile. She watched throughout his conversation the many expressions that flashed across his face. When he was done, he placed his phone back in his pocket and looked at her with an apologetic expression.
“I’m sorry, I have to go-” his voice was a soft melody, Niamha felt her heart shatter and all the warmth that she had accumulated from their conversation today drain from her body leaving her stiff and cold. “I have to go pick up Ezekiel for daycare. It’s almost an hour past their holiday closing time.”
Niamha looked at him and gave him a strained smile. “It’s okay..I completely understand.” She tried to hide the disappointment she felt, but she knows he saw a small piece of it. They were silent as they walked out of the café. As they walked back to the pier where Niamha had parked, a chill whipped and touched Niamha’s bones thru her clothing, noticing her slight shaking Landon shrugged of his jacket and gave it to her.
“You don’t have to.” She said trying to give the jacket back.
“But I want to.” She looked over at him to see if he was as serious as he sounded, and she saw the same emotions that she saw in the café but with ten times the power. Niamha smiled and looked over to the pier as they walked.
Once they reached her car they stayed standing there looking at one another.
“Thank you.” Niamha said breaking the silence between them.
“For?” Landon questioned raising a hand to stroke her cheek. He stared in her eyes and let all his emotions for her pour out.
“Making me feel better.” Niamha stopped her breathing as she watched him lean in towards her. He stopped just a few inches away from her mouth.
“Anytime.” He closed the distance and placed tender kisses all over her face until he could feel her melt under him. Landon watched Niamha’s lips part as he worked his way back to her mouth. He met her with restrained anticipation. Holding Niamha’s warm, soft body caused a sexual awakening in him stronger than he’d ever experienced. He divulged deep into her mouth, searching for the key to her heart. When he pulled away, she sought refuge in him, initiating another kiss. Landon nibbled her ear. His body tightened with unspoken possibilities. He held her tight as he trailed kisses down her neck. Her arms were around his waist holding him tight. He moved to her mouth, kissing her with a measured amount of urgency, sensing that the night was coming to an end. They held each other. Kissing until her mouth was pink and swollen with unspoken passion.
He kissed her again, but this kiss sent a different message. It held unrestrained hunger for what he longed to do to her. They parted with a soft plop and Niamha turned to get in her car. She started the car and rolled down the windows. Landon leaned into the window and placed another steaming kiss on her lips.
“Call me when you get home.”
“Okay.” Landon stepped back and watched Niamha head home.
Niamha rounded the corner looked in her rear view mirror. She smiled as she thought of kisses they shared tonight; it was by far the best kisses they ever shared and a hell of a lot better than the kisses she got from Michael. Thinking of Michael brought a cold down pour on her high and she thought what she was going to do with him.
