I feel a little sad reading what Joon posted on the fan cafe tonight. I know him and the boys are thankful with everything that's happening to them right now. But he's human. He also deserves a little time off. He deserves to read a good book or savour the time when it's only him and his music. I hope everything is ok, Joon. I love you ❤️
Here's another chapter y'all. I hope you're not getting tired of my writing yet. Enjoy!
The faint music coming from the speakers echoes along with the loud laughter of the two people in front of me and creates a ringing buzz in my ear. I’m down to my third bottle of soju and with a slight tilt of my head, I glance at my locked phone that is quietly sitting on top of the table.
“You keep checking your phone, Yumi. Expecting a text from someone?” Pam unnie said while her head is leaning on Jae’s shoulder. Obviously drunk, a teasing smile is grazed on her lips and a suggestive tone is apparent in her voice.
I gulped the last bit of my remaining soju on my shot glass and answered, “No, unnie. You’re drunk. Let’s go home, yeah?”
I looked at Jae, the only sober person at this table and told him to go get the bill. “Ok, I’ll be right back.”
He softly let go of Pam and stood up to pay the bill in the counter. “Unnie.” I called out to the almost asleep girl in front of me. I was the one who planned to get drunk but Pam must’ve missed us to the point where she lost count as to how many bottles she downed.
She rested her chin on the palm of her hand and looked straight at me. “Just text him already. Gosh. It’s so painful to look at you silently argue with yourself if you’ll do it or not. I’m drunk but I’m not stupid.”
I laughed at the cute pout she had on her lips. “It’s fine, unnie. He’s busy.” I said softly.
“Look at you. Not even denying it anymore.” She flung her hands up and continued, “It’s the 21st century, Yumi. It’s not a crime if the girl initiates you know.”
“I don’t want to initiate anything, unnie.” I chuckled. It’s interesting to see Pam get drunk. I’ve seen her get drunk a few times but not like this. Carefree and honest. Even though she’s been picking up on me and my feelings the whole night, I can sense the worry behind her words.
“Yeah, keep telling yourself that.” She dismissed me by her hand and let her head fall on the table. Jae was walking back to us with the same gorgeous smile on his pink lips.
He clicked his tongue while looking at Pam and said, “This girl is always giving me too much trouble. When will she get a boyfriend?”
I laughed at his whining. “You know unnie has high standards, Jae. I bet even the President of South Korea won’t be good enough for her.”
“Whatever. With how savage she is, she’s gonna end up alone and lonely.” I giggled at his annoyance while standing up. From among our friends, especially in school where Pam is quite popular, she’s known to be a heartbreaker. She carries an aura of elegance and sophistication that makes every guy at school turn their heads.
“I heard that!” she sprang up and reached for Jae’s hair. But with her height and not to mention how drunk she is, she struggled to shut Jae up with her fist.
“Stop it!” Jae said while stopping both of her arms from tackling him. “Come on, Yumi. I’ll take you home first. Uggh!” he said while struggling to keep Pam in his arms and ushered the girl to walk to the entrance of the pub.
I shook my head, grabbed my phone and bag and silently followed them behind. I unlocked my phone, checking if I received a message but nothing came up. I sighed and continued to walk behind Jae and Pam. When we reached Jae’s car, he strapped in Pam on the backseat while the girl is forcing herself to stay awake. Once he was sure that Pam was secure, he motioned me to get in the front seat and he walked to the driver’s side.
