Chapitre 39 - Suivre à la Trace

Those sleep nights finally paid off, Chaeyoung and her team will sign a contract to Yugyeom's company, LG U+. ADjective will turn into a real nightmare as they will handle a telecommunication brand, the hardest client ever. But Chaeyoung and her team are more than capable. 

They hold a team dinner at night right after winning the campaign pitch.

"For LG U+ and ADjective!" Mingyu make a toast "Chan!" All raised champagne, except Tzuyu who's 8 months pregnant.

"CHAN!" All of them clink their glasses.

"I am just curious, I don't want to be overconfident but, was ADjective that good? Or is it because of your friendship with Chaeyoung, Mr. Kim?"

"Oh trust me, I don't have any intention to help you guys because of Chaeyoung, not even a bit"

"Guys, I already told you, Gabe is still holding so many grudges to me, it's impossible that he did things for me"

"That's right"

Both then laugh, because they both know they are joking. Ever since Chaeyoung got out from jail, Yugyeom has been nothing but so helpful to Chaeyoung. Feels like things they both fight in the past suddenly gone. They talked about how they regretted their past, to became an enemy like they were. Sometimes Yugyeom bluntly said to Chaeyoung that he's still in love with Eunho no matters what, and Chaeyoung took it lightly. Chaeyoung feels grateful that there's a person who still cares about her wife no matter what. Chaeyoung often feels lonely, but now Yugyeom is staying by her side. 

Chaeyoung's career is back on track as well, many of the advertisers heard about Chaeyoung's return to the industry, and many of them wanted to sign their brand to her. Thank God that the fact she was being a prisoner doesn't shake her reputation. Actually, Chaeyoung is even busier nowadays. Mingyu assigned her to handle two of ADjective's major clients. One is a Telecommunication brand, and one is an FMCG brand. Sure, it's hell for her. But Chaeyoung feels that she could handle it. 

For some reason, Chaeyoung needs to subside her mind into work. This isn't fair for Seojun and Chaeyoung knows it. Chaeyoung always tries not to touch her paperwork on the weekend, though sometimes she needs to. It's hard for Chaeyoung not to meet her son every day. Chaeyoung always got home when Soejun already asleep, and she tries to wake up when he about to leave for school. Chaeyoung feels sorry to her parents as they still need to take care Seojun even though they are now moving to the capital city.

This weekend, to make up all the time she misses with Seojun, Chaeyoung would like to take Seojun to a zoo at Seoul Grand Park. Chaeyoung's mom said that Seojun has an assignment to observe some animals, Chaeyoung parents about to accompany Seojun to the zoo but Chaeyoung took over, she needs to spend time with her kids. It's her promise.

"Eomma, if you're tired, you could stay at one place, I'll have my way and be back to you" Seojun look at her Mom, even though Chaeyoung didn't show it, Seojun knows that she's tired.

"YA, SON SEOJUN! Stop acting like you're an adult, you're only 12, okay? Besides I am not tired, I can be circling the entire place if you want to"

"Okay then, I just need to observe some animals, we could go after that"

Seojun then leads the way. Chaeyoung is fluttered somehow that her kid in giving her so much attention like that. Chaeyoung sits at the bench while watching Seojun observing the flamingo. He uses Chaeyoung's phone to take pictures and record their behavior. Chaeyoung watches him from afar. Just 20 meters from her bench, she looks at the food stall. Chaeyoung hasn't eaten anything since the morning. She grabs a bite for a while.

It's a corndog stall. Perfect to fill her stomach.

"Excuse me, may I have 2 corndogs?" The seller who's busy now turn herself to Chaeyoung.
