Chapter 31 - Bonheur

Seoul | 2018

Mina is being called by the police station, they needed her to see something regarding her parents' case.

Detective Joon then comes and greet her. Detective Joon is the only detective who chose not to give up to the case. The case is closed 5 years ago, but he tried to re-open it after the lead detective in-charge around the accident, died. He believed that the detective was a corrupted detective and altered so many cases under his hands.

"Mina-ssi" Detective Joon is smiling upon seeing her.

"Detective Joon"

"Mina-ssi, we found some footage hidden at late Detective Lee house at Jeju Island"

Mina is trembling upon hearing the news.

"Do you want to see it?"

Mina then sigh, unsure about her decision, but she nods to the detective.

"This could be graphic, but you deserve to know it. Just tell me to stop if you can't con"

When Mina agreed that Detective Joon would re-open the case, she told him to shows her all the evidence if he found a new lead. Detective Joon opens his laptop and plays a video on some intersection at Gyeonggi-do.

Mina could see a quiet street, a car then appears.  It's her father's and stops at the traffic light for a long time. When the car about to move, a car from the opposite direction come in a speedy. Crashing her father car immediately who walk just so slow crossing the intersection, her father car is bouncing off to the air, then fall down, the other car is losing control and crash into the roadblock"

Mina cry seeing that happened, she could finally see it.

Detective Joon closes his laptop.

"You're right, it was not a single accident, it's between two cars, and this evidence should be enough to open the case"

"Did you find the other car?"

"We are working on it, Detective Lee seems to alter the evidence and turned it into a single accident, while it wasn't"

Mina clenches her fist tight, now that she shed some lights, she wants the impactor to be punished.

"It's footage from 10 years ago, we need to working in video resolution to get a look on the plate number, and perhaps interviewing local hospital there. Mina-ssi, this is good news, you and your family will finally get the justice"

"Thank you, Detective Joon"

With that evidence, the case is finally open again. Another part of Mina is happy because her family will finally get the justice, but part of her feel scared cause she needs to remember things that happened years ago, and it was hard for Mina.

She's home and Chaeyoung is already home. Suddenly all the scared feeling is going away. With Chaeyoung beside her, she knows that everything will be okay. 

Chaeyoung is sitting on the living room watching something.

"Hi, where were you? I was looking for you"

"I have something to take care of"

"Ah I see"

Mina put the bag down and lay down at the sofa, using Chaeyoung thighs as a pillow.

"What's wrong?" Chaeyoung asks while stroking her hair from above.

"No, I am just tired, that's all"

"Ah Mina, how about this weekend we go to Busan"

Mina then look at her, "Why so sudden?"

"I don't know, I miss the kid, that's all"
