Twenty Seventh Moon

"I'm sorry, babi. The party didn't end well." Pierre sighed as he sat on our bed.

After removing the jewelries I wore, I went near him. Lumuhod ako sa harapan niya at pinatong ang mga kamay sa kanyang hita. His tired eyes looked at me.

"Babi, it's not your fault. Alam ko namang magkakaroon talaga ng reaksyon ang mga Ivanovs at hindi sila sasang-ayon pero hindi ko inakalang aabot sa ganito." Sabi ko.

"Tonight was supposed to be a happy night," Hinilamos niya ang kanyang mukha sa kanyang mga palad. "it was supposed to end peacefully, then we'll go to our room and mate, then--.."

Mahina kong pinalo ang kanyang hita. Inalis niya ang kanyang mga kamay sa kanyang palad at ngumisi sakin. Akala ko naman magiging seryoso tong usapan namin ngayon tas bigla bigla niyang gawing kamanyakan. Well, whatever. I'm not actually complaining...

"What are we going to do now? I'm sure the Klyki pack will start a war. They want my head." Sabi ko.

"If they want a war, then so be it. I'm ready to fight for us. And I promise I'll protect you, you're my Luna." Pinatayo niya ako at pinaupo sa kanyang hita.

"Promise me you'll let me fight." I said.

He groaned. "It's too dangerous--.."

"May labanan bang hindi delikado, Pierre?" I chuckled and he rolled his eyes. "I'm not scared, I'm a Warrior Wolf, babi, baka nakakalimutan mo..."

"I still don't want you to fight," He said. "I know you're a great fighter but still, I won't risk it. I don't want to lose you."

"You won't lose me, Pierre."

"Vanessa, please. Wag nang matigas ang ulo."

"I have the right to fight, Pierre. Plus it's my duty to fight for my pack. Even though I'm a Luna, I still have a Warrior Wolf's blood running through my veins." I said.

Huminga siya ng malalim. "We'll talk about this with the pack officials tomorrow. We'll have a meeting." 

"Fine." I'll find a way to fight for Bloodrose Moon, kahit hindi niya ako payagan. 

The next day, I went to our old house. Good thing Tanner was there, he was busy cleaning the house. Hilig niya ang maglinis ng bahay at ng kotse, at ni minsan hindi ko siya narinig na nagreklamo dahil sa pagod sa kakalinis. Nolan is also like this. The Miller brothers are clean freaks.

"Putrages naman, V!" Sigaw ni Tanner sa gulat nang makita niya ako. "will you please announce your arrival next time! Hindi yung nanggugulat ka!"

"Oh, bakit? Ginulat ba kita? Nakatayo lang ako dito sa sala." I chuckled.

Pinatay niya ang vacuum at naglakad palapit sakin. Sabay kaming umupo sa sofa at natahimik siya. I rolled my eyes.

"Tanner, you know the reason why I'm here, right?" 

He sighed before nodding. "I have been hiding this for years, Vanessa..."

Sumimangot ako. How serious is this at nagawa niyang itago sakin ng ilang taon? And Nol knows this, too! Should I get upset at the two of them for this?

"Tell me."

"The reason...is connected to your Mom, Vanessa."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko nang mabanggit niya si Mommy. Paano naging konektado to kay Mommy?

"Hindi naman talaga ako galit sa lahat ng mga tao, V. I'm angry...furious...at a certain family," He paused. "it's true, your Mom didn't die in a wolf war years ago, just your Dad."

"H-Hindi...sabi ni Alpha Evan na sa digmaan namatay sina Mommy at Daddy. Nakumpirma k-ko, Tanner. Even Pierre said--.."

"They lied to you for your own sake, Vanessa. Pinili nilang magsinunggaling sayo para hindi magbago ang pananaw mo sa mga tao. Wolves like us were made to protect humans and you know that, right?"

Dahan dahang tumulo ang mga luha ko. Sana mali ang iniisip ko, sana nagkakamali lang si Tanner. Sumasakit na ang puso ko.

"Tanner, hindi kita n-naiintindihan..."

Pumikit siya ng mariin at huminga ng malalim. When he opened his eyes, he spoke again. "A human killed your  Mother, Vanessa. In the woods near your old house. At kilala ko kung sino ang pumatay sa kanya."

I clenched my jaw and fist while waiting for him to continue, but he didn't. My Wolf was furious right now at oras na malaman niya kung sino ang pumatay kay Mommy, she'll takeover. Tumulo na ang aking mga luha at hindi pa rin nagsasalita si Tanner.

"Sino, Tanner? Sabihin mo!" I growled.

Huminga ulit siya ng malalim. "Your human friend's Mother."

Si Gabe? Ang ina ni Gabe ang pumatay sa aking ina?! Papano?!

"They were having a picnic in the woods, the same day your Mom was hunting alone. Hindi ko alam kung paano nagkita ang Mommy mo at ang ina ng kaibigan mo pero dahil inisip ng kanyang ina na mabangis na hayop ang mga lobo, she attacked your Mom," He said.

"She used a sharp branch to stab your Mom repeatedly, causing her to lose blood and energy but she was still able to bite her in order to escape. Wolves would never attack humans, only of necessary. In that situation, your Mom had to bite her for self defense and to escape," He paused.

"Her bite was too strong and that killed your friend's Mother. Nagawa pang makalayo layo ng Mommy mo pero hindi na siya nakaabot sa mansyon ng Moonstone Delta. She died in the woods. We were at school when that happened and the day before your Mom died was the wolf war where your Dad died kaya naisip nila Alpha Evan na sabihin na lamang sayo na namatay silang dalawa sa wolf war. You were still young to understand the real story." He painfully looked at me after talking.

Tulala ako habang nakikinig kay Tanner. Ang dami dami kong kailangang ipasok sa isip ko. My brain is still absorbing everything and I'm to accept it. Tanner would never lie to me like this so I'm pretty sure that all of these are true.

Mommy is really dead. She didn't die in a wolf war with my Dad. She was killed, brutally. She was killed by Gabe's Mother.

Ang mahirap na parte dito ay kung magagalit ba ako. Gabe's Mom killed my Mother because of fear of getting attacked and my Mom attacked her for self defense. 

This is too much. How am I supposed to accept this?

"And the worse part..."

I weakly faced Tanner. Walang preno ang pagtulo ng mga luha ko. Nanginginig ako sa galit at sakit tas meron pa?

"A-Ano?"

Lumunok si Tanner. "Gabe was your first love. The one who left without saying goodbye. The one who made you close your heart."
