Y/N's POV.
"Lost in thoughts are we young lady?"
Doctor Kim came up behind you and sat down where you were sitting on the long stairs that was leading up to the palace. His once so clean and neatly well ironed lab coat, was now not as white as it had been and had definitely seen better days, but except from that he was still looking like his well put together self.
"Was it that obvious professor?" you said and smiled awkwardly as you turned to look at him.
"Well, can't deny that I didn't see it from miles away. Let me guess, is it perhaps about that jungle boy?" he asked rather teasingly, but after seeing your surprised face along with your cheeks turning all shades of red, he continued with a mysterious smirk. "Miss, you know I gotta say that you're not the best at hiding things. I have seen the sparks around the two of you since that boy first joined us."
Sparks!?
Hold your horses for a second, and you who had thought that no one had noticed. You yourself wasn't even sure if there was feelings between you and Taehyung, after all you had only known one another for barely a week. It wasn't like he made you feel butterflies every time those dark eyes met yours, or making you frustrated and not being able to completely know what you were gonna do. No it wasn't like that at all, how could this man even think such things!
Or perhaps you are just too stubborn to see it yourself? A small voice inside of your head suddenly said.
"For once your instinct might actually be wrong professor. That boy is no better than the ones you find back home." you said and scoffed while still being a bit red in your face.
Doctor Kim gently smiled as he began fiddling with something in his pocket, and as he was searching for whatever it was, he said.
"Everyone makes mistakes, don't they? That also includes pretty jungle boys like him."
Finally managing to find what it was he was looking for, he pulled up a small folded little piece of something that looked like parchment and took your hand and placed it in your palm. Not understanding the meaning of this, you just gave him a puzzled look.
"And what is this supposed to mean?"
Staring at the piece of yellowish paper, curiosity began bubbling inside of you.
"You tell me miss."
The man gave you an amused wink, before getting up and brushed off some dust from his lab coat and walked off without another word. Leaving you to simply just stare after him, but your eyes eventually fell to the little piece of folded parchment in your hand.
How the doctor had gotten a hold of this, still raised a big question mark. However the parchment's content did tempt you a little bit more, and without further do, you unfolded it slowly but surely. It was like you were afraid that it would bite you if you weren't careful enough.
There wasn't that much written on the yellow paper, but it's content was enough for you to feel a bit of anxiety and excitement in one go.
Meet me at the portal room once you read this.

It was written in the island's native language, which made it harder for whatever curious eyes that may be watching to understand. Still you understood it of course, despite the sender's rather messy handwriting.
At first you considered to just toss the paper away and forget about it, you knew what he wanted, but then you remembered what Dr. Kim had told you just now. That everyone deserved a second chance. It kept ringing in your ear, making you chew the inside of your cheek as you tried your best on weighing the two alternatives that you now had in front of you.
