 Jungkook's POV.

"Young love. So beautiful and powerful, but oh so fragile."

Surprised by the sudden voice coming from the shadows, Jungkook raised his head, quickly drying his tears. He was a bit embarrassed that someone had seen him in his current emotional state, showing his sensitive side was something that had he wished no one to see. The only exception until now had been y/n.

Y/n...

A dark figure stepped out of the darkness, moon beams landing upon the person revealing his face. Orange hair and a pair of dark orbs came into view.

Commander Jung.

In a few moments Jungkook was back up on his feet, staring warily at the man.

"What are you doing here Jung?" Jungkook's voice was icy cold.

The orange haired man smiled as he shook his head.

"Please, you can drop the formalities Jungkook. We know each other, don't we?" Hoseok said in a casual voice, but when he only got silence and a stare in return, he put a hand on the younger man's shoulder and looked him deep into his eyes. "Hey, I know it's none of my business, but I happened to see what happened. I just wanted to say that shit happens, and it might look dark right now but that doesn't mean that you have completely lost the game just yet."

And what was that supposed to mean?!

"I don't know what you're talking about." Jungkook said bluntly and turned around, crossing his arms over his chest.

The presence of someone standing right behind him crept up his back, he could tell as he felt the other man's breath hit the back of his neck. Then Hoseok's voice was heard right next to his ear, he was calmly speaking to him.

"There's a way you could win her back you know. It's very simple really, just say the few magical words."

Jungkook chewed on the inside of his mouth as he processed Hoseok's words, the thought of was tempting that he had to admit, but at the same time he got a bad feeling that he was playing a game with the devil.

Once again facing the orange haired man, Jungkook awkwardly cleared his throat as he met his eyes, nodding slowly as he said rather quietly:

"I'm listening."

A chuckle came from Hoseok along with a pleased smile playing on his lips.

"You see Jungkook, the whole reason to why this expedition took place in the first place, was actually because of a very specific reason. Of course searching for a mysterious island that people only knows from fairytales, plays a big part, but there's more to it than that-"

"Money, this is about money isn't it?" Jungkook abruptly said out of the blue, cutting Hoseok off in mid sentence.

Living on the street pretty much his whole life, had taught him one or two things. Humans was greedy creatures, taking every opportunity they had to get their hands on something shiny. He had witnessed normal people turn into these greedy monsters, just because they had found a opportunity, a loophole that offered them a chance to start a new future. An offer that came with an expensive price to pay for whoever accepted it.

"What a clever boy. I would have given you a gold star if I had one, but perhaps you're a little bit too old for that. Right kiddo?" Hoseok laughed and sent a small wink in Jungkook's direction. "Listen, I was in your shoes once. I know how it feels like being treated like crap, so that's why I'm giving you this offer. Apparently there's this kinda rumour about a treasure in this place, so me and some of the boys made some plans on trying to get a hand on that. You get my point?"

A treasure, here on Celestis? His memory immediately began flashing back to the day when he and y/n had been out together, the same day when they had ended up having a water fight. He remembered that she had told him something that time, something about a secret.

Think Jungkook, what did she say?

Forcing his brain to think so hard to the extent of him almost getting an headache, the hidden memories in the back of his mind came into view. He remembered, it came back to him like a strike of lightning on a blue sky.

The heart of Celestis. The portal room below the palace and the holy rock.

"And why would you need me for your dirty business?" Jungkook spit out, still a bit wary of Hoseok.

It wasn't that "stealing" was the thing that made him be a bit on edge, where he came from it was in fact not that unusual, but it was rather Hoseok as a person.

He had never truly liked Hoseok in the first place, in his own opinion he found him to be rather odd and secretive. And perhaps there was reason not to trust in that man, but on the other hand Jungkook was not someone who tended to trust in people under normal circumstances either.

His trust issues was an outcome from his rough childhood. In his whole life he had been very careful when meeting new people, which had led to him never really finding any friends. Of course, he had had people around him that he hung out with from time to time, but they never got to know him properly. And that was the thing.

No one truly knew who Jeon Jungkook was.

"Like I said before, we could need another clever mind like yours. So let me ask you, do you know anything that I don't? Because if you do..." Hoseok paused for a moment, creating a dramatic pause while staring directly at Jungkook. "You see kid, that treasure could be the answer to your deepest desires."

The answer to your deepest desires...

That thought clung onto Jungkook for several seconds, his mind going to places that he never thought he could have even imagined. Dark places luring him into it's claws, the snake tempting him to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree that shouldn't be touched.

Despite the temptation from the older guy's words, Jungkook somehow managed to stand his grounds and resist the offer. Not wanting to give in to what he deep inside knew was wrong, he stood there in silence.

Hoseok who had been watching him with a glimpse in his eyes, noticed the boy's facial expression who gave him the answer to his offer. It was not clearly what he had wanted to hear, as his elegant face got a cold look on it. His jaw stiffened as he then spoke calmly but with a certain coldness in his voice:

"Well then, guess you didn't want your happily ever after ending after all."

And with that, he turned around and walked off. His footsteps echoing in the silent night, the moon throwing shadows after him until he disappeared out of view. Leaving Jungkook alone with his thoughts, who was fully unaware that he was walking straight into the jaws of the beast.

"Oh poor unaware Jungkook, thinking that you can act like the strong hero. Just you wait, and eventually you will give in."
