Y/N POV.
With tears streaming down your cheeks you ran as fast as your legs could possibly carry you. You needed to warn Taehyung about this, or this whole place would soon be in pieces. Finally the tall palace walls came into view before you and made you speed up. Luckily you didn't need to look too long for someone, because just right outside of the big gates stood Taehyung, Jimin and Namjoon, seemingly in the middle of a important conversation.
"They could be able to leave by tomorrow already your majesty."
"Already...?"
Their heads suddenly turned when they noticed you coming towards them, panting loudly with swollen red eyes from all the crying. You looked like a complete mess. Beads of sweat were visible in your forehead as you hair were sticking to it.
"Y/N!" Tae bursts out, managing to catch you just in time before you tripped from being all out of breath.
Namjoon and Jimin looked at you with worry written all over their faces.
"Hoseok... y-you gotta stop him. He's planning to steal th-"
You got cut off mid sentence when a sudden chaos broke out out of nowhere from behind the walls, and the sound of loud voices and quick footsteps filled the air. Everyone's attention fell to the guard that came running out of the gate.
"The rock, the rock has been stolen from the portal room!"
So it had already began, you weren't fast enough.
Namjoon and Jimin looked at Taehyung in horror. That stone was not just an ancient rock that had served the air people for generations, it was also extremely powerful. Which meant that in the wrong hands, it could create worse things that anyone could even imagine. When being held by anyone who wasn't one of them, the rock would give its owner any power that he or she desired out of the four elements.
It was a death trap ready to happen, a time bomb ready to blow up at any second.
"Mr. Kim, gather the guards immediately. Prepare them for what's coming, we gotta be ready to fight back." Taehyung said with, his tone was serious.
For his whole life, he had always tried to escape his royal duties, because he never wanted to be the king in the first place. But now, everyone was in danger, his people couldn't suffer another tragedy.
Everyone looked at him in mere surprise once those big words left his lips, he acted like a real leader, the one he was born to be. For a brief moment it actually looked like Namjoon would burst into tears, because of the proud look he gave his king at that moment, it was pure respect. The boy that he had basically raised, had finally grown up.
"Yes your majesty, I'm on it!" Namjoon said and saluted him before running off, taking with him all the guards that was outside of the gates and began giving out orders from left to right.
Once he was gone, Taehyung turned to his best friend and put a hand on his shoulder as he looked him straight in the eyes.
"Jimin please. Take all children and elders to the portal room as soon as possible, we gotta evacuate the island immediately. I believe in you brother."
Jimin looked back at him and nodded, showing that he had understood his mission. It was real business now, this wasn't just a game anymore.
This was life or death.
The two of them leaned in so that their foreheads touched, it was a touching view. The two boys who had grown up together, shared their days beside one another. And now they had come to this moment. They shared the last seconds together before Jimin ran off, but before he did he said:
