Hey guys! Just a little A/n! In this chapter the subject of family appears. Just you let you know, I am fully aware that Gavroche is a Thénardier, but for the purposes of this book he does not know that. Thank you for reading! Xoxo

"You ready, little soldier?" Enjolras asked Gavroche as he prepared to speak to Lilette.

"Yes, sir" Gavroche gave a small salute.

"She's out in the Garden" I told Gavroche so he knew where to look. Enjolras and I watched from my bedroom window as the little soldier went on his mission. Soon Gavroche was in the garden, clearing his throat to get Lilette's attention.

"Lilette, um, may I ask you something" Gavroche straightened up. As he did so, he glanced up at the window, noticing Enjolras and I spying on him.

"Would you like to go on a walk?" He extended his hand out. She took it gladly and as they passed to window, Gavroche looked up and sticking his tongue out at us then walked off hand joined in her's.

"Damn it, I really wanted to know what he was going to say to her!" I whined in defeat.

"Give them a little privacy" Enjolras smiled to me.

"Now, we can have a little privacy" he smirked, I rolled my eyes return then he brought me closer to him and kissed me.

"I love you, do I say that enough? " he asked me, smiling.

"Never" I pecked his lips. I let him hold me for a few minutes, just listening to the evening birds calling outside, nice and peaceful...

"Genevieve!!!" A little voice broke the peacefulness from outside.

"What?!" I called back rushing over to the window, as I began to lean out of the window I felt Enjolras put a hand on my waist.

"Just incase" he smirked, I rolled my eyes in response.

"She said yes!" Gavroche beamed up to us, lifting up he and Lilette's joined hands.

"That's wonderful, Gavroche!" I smiled widely. I noticed Lilette had a large blush in her face, I felt so happy for her, she finally had someone, someone to play with, someone to talk to, it's a shame it took eleven years for it to happen.

"Lilette, I'm so happy for you!" I smiled down to her as she smiled back at me then turned to look at Gavroche.

"See you later guys!" Gavroche waved up to Enjolras and I.

"Aww, they're too cute" I sighed as they ran off in the garden.

"I know" Enjolras hugged me from behind.

"You know, my family's ball is this weekend" he rested his head on my shoulder.

"Oh, I almost forgot! I really must get a new dress for it" I placed my arms on top of his. I loved it when he hugged me from behind, or from any angle for that matter, I felt so safe, like nothing could ever hurt me... even if the barricade should fall, I would have his protection.

"You could show up in rags, and you would still be the most beautiful girl I've ever seen" he kissed the edge of my cheek.

"Thank you, but I think I'll get a dress" I lightly laugh back.

"Aww, don't you two look snuggly" Courfeyrac's voice entered my room.

"Hello, Courf" I rolled my eyes.

"Wow, aren't you happy to see me?" He spoke sarcastically.

"What is it Courf?" Enjolras kept his arms around me but turned us.

"I think we should have a chat... regarding the revolution..." Courfeyrac said as his sarcastic self and happy smiled disintegrated into a stern, stone face.

"I see" Enjolras started to unwrap his arms from around me but I held them on me for dear life.

"I'll be right back, my love" he whispered into my ear, kissing my cheek gently. I nodded then let him go, watching him as he walked off with my brother, giving me a reassuring smile before shutting the door behind him.

I sat down all alone and watched as the sky began to turn a pallet of pink, orange and blue, the sun slowly disappearing. I only dared to think of what they may be discussing... what if the revolution had to be tomorrow? Or what if Enjolras had to leave... I couldn't bare it. It was times like these where I needed a mother, I started sniffing as some tears strolled down my cheeks when I heard some knocking at the door.

"Just a minute" I attempted to say but my words were swallowed by emotions.

"Gen?" Gavroche peeked his head through the door, searching for me.

"Genevieve! Are you ok?" Gavroche rushed over to me, swinging his little arms around me in the process.

"Yes, I'm fine" I stroked over one of the hands that were on me.

"No your not, was it Enjolras? Do you want me to kick his-"

"No it's not Enjolras" I laughed, cutting Gavroche short of his threat.

"What is it then?" He took a seat on my knee.

"Gavroche, I need to tell about someone really special" I smiled, moving some hair out of his face, his little eyes lit up and he nodded politely.

"Now, mother died of a terrible disease called cancer. She's no longer here, and sometimes I get a little upset that I can't see her anymore" I smiled bittersweetly, a tear rolling down my cheek.

"I'm really sorry, Gen" he lifted his little hand wiped my tear away.

"I don't really know who my mother is. I grew up on the streets mostly, then I found the boys when I was about six and they took me in. I'd never had a family before then all of a sudden a brothers going spare!" His adorable cockney accent explained.

"I'm so sorry Gavroche" I gave his forehead a gentle kiss.

"Don't be! I'm so happy now! Although I do wish I had a mum" He looked a his little hands.

"As do I, just someone to talk to" I sighed.

"Gen, I'll make a deal with you, I know I'm not a girl or anything, but how about maybe I could be there for you, to talk too. And maybe... maybe you could be my mother...?" Gavroche styling asked. My heart filled with joy as he asked me, I had always thought of Gavroche as a son and now, it's settled, he's my child to love forever.

"I love you, Mother" he threw his arms around me and little tear dropped from his eye. Tears fell from mine also as I held my new found son in my arms.

"I love you, my son"
