"Forgive, me. WHAT?!" I exclaimed, hearing my voice ring throughout the Café."Your sister is Cosette- I shouldn't have told you..." Madame Houcheloup's voice trailed off.
"I- I don't understand?! Why didn't my mother, well, who I thought was my mother, tell me?" I began pacing the Café.
"She was probably just trying to protect you" Madame sighed.
"From what?" I snapped my head towards her but my feet still kept moving.
"Your mother, she didn't have it easy. She was probably just scared you would try to run off and get yourself into trouble" she shrugged.
"I- I need to find Cosette" I stopped walking.
"I-I don't think that's a good idea, dear-" Madame began.
"No! I have to talk to her, where is she?" I asked Madame Houcheloup but she stayed silent.
"Madame, where is she?" I raised my hands in frustration.
"You can't just barge in and tell her she's your sister!" Madame stressed.
"Please, Madame. Where is my sister?" I pleaded to her, softening my tone.
"She's at Marius's house, hand me that napkin and I'll write down the address" Madame reluctantly caved in.
"Thank you!" I jumped over to where the napkins were as she got out a pencil.
"There, he's not long down the road from Enjolras' house" she handed me the napkin.
"Thank you Madame!" I squealed as I wrapped my arms around her.
"Listen to me, you have no business going near Enjolras' home, he's not there and you'll only worry his mother when she hears you can't find him" she warned me before letting me go.
"I understand" I nodded then exited the Musain, practically sprinting down the road.
In a flash I was at the Pontmercy house, where my sister and, mostly likely, my future brother in law were. Madame was right, I mustn't just barge in and break the news, I needed to think this through.
I began to grow nervous as I finally decided to simply knock on the door and ask if she is available to chat.
I slowly lifted my hand up to the door knock and tapped it three times against the gold plate, soon after I heard foot steps approaching the door.
"Genevieve? What a pleasant surprise!" Marius greeted me at the door.
"Yes, bonjour Marius, is Cosette there?" I eagerly asked him.
"Yes, she is" he nodded.
"May I please speak with her?" I asked.
"Of course, come in" he smiled as he cleared a way for me to enter the house.
"She's just through there" Marius pointed towards a white door.
"Cosette?" I called while gently knocking on the door.
"Come in!" Her sweet voice replied.
"Genevieve?!" Cosette cried in shock.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, surprised.
"Apologies for my intrusion, but I must speak with you" I kept a straight face.
"Not here..." she thought to herself.
"Who let you in?" She almost demanded.
"Marius. Cosette, is everything okay?" I carefully asked the girl who appeared to be a bit on edge.
