I surrendered .. crazily smiling
God .. it was all so hilarious
total chaos had ensued
monroe police had my ID
checking me out over their radio
west monroe police arrived in numbers
they came to a rubber screeching halt
awkwardly jumped out of their cars
reached clumsily for their guns
hollering he's ours .. he's ours
a monroe cop said hold on cowboys
you'll have no jurisdiction
you'll are all in monroe
it was insanely funny
then they all began arguing
it was like a military infantry
i'm weaving back and forth
stoned high .. standing in rain
I overheard a monroe cop
calling his chief over his 2-way radio
a demanding reply crackled back
hold his ass there God damnit
I couldn't hold it back any longer
my giddy laughter bellowed out
I was surrounded by narcs and cops
west monroe and monroe police
were trying to pull each other back
from searching my smoking truck
west monroe police chief drove up
Captain Humble looked to be half asleep
he's my next door neighbor at one of my rental houses
he barked .. just what in the hell is going on
recognizing me .. turned and asked if i'm alright
he sniffed the light alcohol on my breath
asked me how much i'd drank
I replied .. only a couple of beers
he looked at my eyes .. said i'm good
screamed at the nearest cop to uncuff me
he said i'm a good man .. stood up for me
all came full circle in those tedious moments
he knew his son had turned me on to my first joint
a sad faced officer uncuffed me
whilst a narc shined his flashlight
visible pieces of sinsimilla buds
were stuck all over my cotton tee
quickly i began eating them
I looked up at someone else
monroe police Chief Hampton stood there
saying what's all this fucking hubbub about
Chief Humble slapped him on the shoulder
took him walking for a private conversation
both returned smiling like two cheshire cats
Royce hissed wickedly at me .. i'm going to catch you
I casually winked at him .. perhaps next time, champ
