Flashback .. Fast Forward

His Beautiful Fiancee .. She's Spanish

fast forward .. i'm at the gulf of mexico

cousin dennis finally finds where i'm at

shows up with his best friend steve

both are drunker than cooter brown

dennis asks me if I want to share rent

I replied, sure .. he gives me his address

moved in the very next evening

it has been awhile since i've slept in a bed

I found it difficult to even lie down

made some adjustments .. I was home free

after work the next day

I went to Charlie's tavern

frosted mug of light draft beer was fine

a man enters the lounge .. sits near me

alline's dad .. insists on buying me a beer

I buy the next round

says he has to tell me something

my skin pricks up .. I look .. listen

he relates his family doesn't like me

said he'd just as soon kill as look at me

he's a big dog at bethlehem steel corporation

has enough cash to have me done away with

I tell him his daughter and I love each other

sad looking, he replies .. it's no good, son

how much will it take for you to leave town

I sit for a few minutes of silence

thought it over real good

what i'd say to him now

simply there's no amount of cash

i'm not leaving town .. I refuse to accept

he said he believes i'm a nice guy

it's just his wife he has to please

she told him she hates me badly

my skin is too dark .. hair too long

she doesn't like native indians

I related .. I completely understand

we shook hands .. he went home

finished my beer .. then I left

bummer .. when I made it home

dennis was arguing with three women

I thought, oh fuck .. why me

he was drunk .. no one swung

mostly lots of cursing going on

Jana finally ran two women off
