his ratty, greasy vest was in my hand
could've snatched him by his shirt
yet the way his eyes were blood red
and demonic screams had poured out
convinced me to just let him fucking go
he reminded me of a howling banshee
my high friends were really howling now
after i'd kicked the freak's knee out
they followed him to the entrance
I hollered leave him alone .. let him go
seemed like a zoo .. my friends crazy chatter
I reached the entrance just in time
to see him limping towards an el camino
parked very near .. it was fully occupied
the other ex-con and donald were in it
donald held a rifle pointed at the entrance
the other freak was waving .. pointing a pistol
they hollered out .. we've got you now
come on out now or we'll just wait
I checked my .45 behind my belt
fully loaded .. I was ready if need be
I said fuck you'll .. brandished my piece
not about to go down .. getting shot
without a chance .. charlie panicked a bit
he rushed out from behind the wooden bar
stood right beside me holding his shotgun
donald .. the two freaks stayed near their car
hollered at charlie .. we'll get him at closing time
we turned around .. back inside charlie and I went
we had to draw up a survival plan and quick
there were still innocent patrons drinking inside
it turned into an escalated negotiation
charlie told donald and the two freaks
all his customers are leaving .. not to shoot
quietly, one by one they departed for home
no good to call the police .. only one cop
he covers territory of nineteen counties
no one had any idea of where he's at
it could all be over before the police arrived
charlie searched high and low for the key
to the back door .. held with chain and padlock
he couldn't locate the key .. patiently I waited
