They got to the mayor's office at about 11 o'clock and no one was awake at this time. Ethan opened the door, and there was a cold breeze that came out. It sent a shiver down all of their spines. It smelt of decaying bodies, blood, and mold.

"I will take down stairs," Ethan said in a low voice, almost a whisper, "you guys take the top. I will look around the bottom."

Scarlet sighed, "okay."

Gray only nodded and headed up the steps, Scarlet following, and Ethan wondering around on the first floor.

Once both of them got into the actual office, Scarlet about threw up and Gray looked away. The mayor was still laying on the floor, blood covered everything. There was a gun shot wound above his heart and cut marks going up and down his arms and legs. There was also a big gash right under his rib cage, with his guts torn out and laid around him.

Gray walked closer to the mayor and studied the scene. He stood there for a minute before he breathed in harshly.

"Scarlet get over here and look at this," he said.

Scarlet was facing toward the door, her back to the mayor, "no thank you, I am good right over here."

"Just come here, you need to see this."

"No, just tell me while I am over here."

Gray sighed, "its spells out something."

"What do you mean it spells something? What spells something?"

"The organs," Gray simply replied.

"Okay I am going to throw up." It took her several minutes before she asked, "how the hell can you stand looking at that?"

"I, uh, seen a lot worse."

"Okay, what does it say?" Scarlet asked, without turning toward him.

"The Black Rats." He answered.

"What?"

"Its a hidden guild. We don't know much about them. Some people say that it is because they don't want us to know about them. I think that they just simply don't want to go to jail. We don't know, unlike most hidden guilds, who there master is. They roam around the town, unnoticed, killing people. But its not just our town, they go around other towns, near ours, and do the same thing."

"You mean they just go around killing people?"

"Pretty much and since no one knows much about them there isn't much we can do to stop them."

"That's not internally true," a low voice in the corner spoke out.

Scarlet jumped backing away into Gray, who had went to go closer to the voice. A man appeared out of the shadows and smiled. His teeth were a little pointed and you couldn't see anything else, except shiny pointed white teeth and dark red eyes. The rest of his body was covered with a dark, dark red, almost black, cloak.

"Who are you?" Gray asked. His voice was steady but his hands were shaking. One of his hands were placed in between Scarlet's shoulder blades. The other was hanging down at his side, clenched into a fist.

"I go by many names, but I am here to say, there are people who know about The Black Rats, like me. I know a lot about them. I know who there leader is and where their base is. But enough of that. I am very interested in you two. Gary McCallon and Scarlet Huggins. You two are ever interesting people. Especially you, Gray."
