To double check
And recount
Every single step.
But somehow these accounts
Still aren't balancing.
These angles
Aren't adding up.
These expressions
Aren't equating.
And you
Aren't standing here.I don't know
How I misunderstood
Or where I went wrong.
Maybe I scared you away
Or you saw something in me
That changed your mind.When I said,
"I'll see you tomorrow."
You'd said,
"Yes, ofcourse."
But you aren't here.Maybe I botched up the time.
Maybe I miscalculated
Where you'd be now.
What time zone.
What country.
What place.Maybe you're just asleep;
Tired and alone.
And I am here-
Waiting;
Hurt and confused.
Banking on miscalculations
Over broken feelings
And over changed hearts.~A
