Alicia

“Alicia your water just broke!” Delaine shouted at me.

It took me a good minute to process what she just said. I wasn’t due for 3 more weeks.

I stared at the water at my feet as people swarmed around me. A contraction broke me out of my trance. I screamed out. Tyga and Delaine’s eye were wide as fuck.

A nurse brought a wheelchair behind me. I sat down and started they wheeled me towards the maternity ward.

“I’m coming with you.” Delaine shouted.

“Are you family?” The nurse asked.

“Yes.” Delaine and I replied at the same time. I looked into her eyes. She was as scared as I was.

We reached an empty room and the put me into the hospital bed. They made me change my clothes into a thin light blue dress. They hooked the baby and me up to machines to watch our heart rates.

“Delaine?” I called out. I didn't see her right in front of me.

“I’m right here.” She said, coming to my right side.

“Something’s wrong. I’m not supposed to have him, yet.”

“Stop it. Don’t talk like that. He’s perfectly fine.” She assured her.

“I hope so. Can you call Tyga to see if Chris woke up yet?” I asked her.

“Okay.” She pulled out her phone and did what I asked.

Tyga

I sat in the waiting room by myself. Janitors came around and cleaned up Alicia’s amniotic fluid.

I went up to the front desk and asked for Chris’ room number.

“Um, it’s 318.” She answered.

“Thank you.” I walked down the corridor to Chris’ room. I opened the door and there was my best friend laying in the hospital bed and it was all because of me.

I pulled a chair close to his bed and prayed.

“God, I’m sorry for all the sins I’ve committed and all the lives I ruined because of my choice of work. I know I’ve been making all the wrong decisions, but I’m trying to change. I don’t want to be alone in this life. The people that mean the most to me are leaving my life and I can't handle it.

All I want is for Chris to be okay and for Delaine to take me back. If you would find it in your heart, to bring my girl and my best friend back, I’ll give up the game for good. No more selling, taking lives. I’ll live my life as a honest man. That’s all I ask.” I prayed.

My phone started ringing loudly. Delaine’s name flashed across the screen.

“Hey.” I answered and got up to got to the opposite side of the room.

“Hi, Did Chris wake up yet?” she asked.

“Nah, not yet. How’s Alicia?”

“She’s alright. I mean she is in labor.” She replied.

“Ummm.” Thing were quiet for a few minutes.

“How are you though?” She asked in almost a whisper.

“I’m fine. I miss you, a lot.” I admitted.

“I do too. But, this isn’t the right time to talk about us. There’s too many things going on.”

“I understand.” I said. I heard rustling on the hospital bed and turned around to see Chris waking up.

“He’s awake.” I almost screamed into the phone. I heard Delaine say the same thing to Alicia. I absentmindedly hung up the phone.

I walked over to his bed. “Where the fuck am I?” He asked

“You’re in the hospital. You were shot. You barely made it.” I explained.

“For real? Where’s Alicia?” He asked.

“She’s in labor.” I replied.

“She’s what? She’s not due for a few more weeks. Fuck you mean she’s in labor?” He shouted.

“She’s having the baby. She just went into labor like less than an hour ago.” I added.

“I gotta see her.” He said pulling on the tubes.

“Nah, you need to keep your ass here. You just got out of surgery. You don’t want to tear your stitches.”

Moments later, nurses swarmed in.

“You’re going to have to leave, sir.” One of them told me.

“I’ll be right outside.” I shouted before the shut the door in my face.
