Juniper was inspecting the family library, a room that had fallen to unfortunate neglect in the past few decades. Though a decent size—twice as large as his entire apartment floor—it was unfurnished. No cozy armchairs, no tables or desks. No bookshelves, either, he noted with some distaste. But it was, surprisingly, overflowing with books. And not classic fiction or the usual literature bric-a-brac that graced most distinguished libraries. It was stocked with encyclopedias and histories, almost all of it devoted to the fairy subject. There was even a book on the Winter Court's royal genealogy, tracing back to a time before paper had ever been invented. And strangest of all, the books—despite the lack of shelving—were organized by subject, author, and then size. Someone had spent considerable time on the arrangement.

Wonder who did all that work? But the question hardly mattered, so he dismissed it. He was halfway through a bestiary that covered everything from wyverns to creatures he'd never heard of before, when Breeze's sister stormed into the room.

He might have squeaked. Libra Breeze was scary. She was also, he noticed, a lot scarier when she rushed over, grabbed him by the throat, and shoved a carrot in his face. He'd never before thought that a vegetable could be so threatening.

Poor form of him, to be making assumptions without proper scientific testing.

"Can you heal?" She asked...er, demanded.
