Breeze was glad for his elder sister. Given the absurd gap in age between herself and the other Breeze children—long, even for fairies—she'd had the lion's share of raising them. Disciplining them, too. It was a miracle they didn't turn out to be hellions, like her. Redbud, while their mother, was not given to motherly traits and sneered at the idea of acting as one. Sometimes, Breeze wondered if she ever thought of them as her children.

Probably not. And what did it say about him, that he wasn't overly concerned by that fact?

What else did it say about him, that he was slightly jealous for how much time Libby and Yasuko were starting to spend together? In the past three days, Yasuko had parked herself in the kitchen and didn't seem to have any intentions on leaving.

"Worried our big sis is gonna steal your girl?" Tavius teased, adding in a sing-sing voice, "OooOoooOooo! It's Missus-Steal-Your-Girl!"

Rubbing his temples, Breeze tried valiantly to block his brother's obnoxious singing out from his head. Then put an end to it altogether when he announced, "Shit, I need to call Redbud."
