One word: inspiring
The spark that lit the fire within me
You threaded the needle for me
And then you let me fly.
To call you a mentor
Would be a bit far-stretched
Seeing as how we've never met
But you're the closest to a mentor
That I've ever had.
In a way, you've taught me what works
Together,
And what needs to go their separate ways.
I've learned how to rip things apart
Completely destroy them and patch them back up again
Scars from the past may still be there,
But now it looks brand new.
Perhaps a metaphor for life,
Or one for an outdated jacket.
Fashion is a passion.
It's always been inside of me.
However, you helped me realize
Different possibilities within the wardrobe
And that anything is actually possible.
My drive to learn how to sew
Was inspired by the things that you have
displayed through your career
My style beginning to form, my wardrobe starting to change
And resemble more of who I've channeled myself to be.
It's all thanks to you.
You've inspired and given me hope.
Thank you, Mandi.
