Fake Smiles
The time came for all to smile and say their lines,
While I would just fake a smile as we go out to dine.
No, I didn't want to be there.
In fact, I felt the need to pull out my hair.
How insincere could this be,
But this was my own destiny.
I would put up with this,
Allowing the men each one kiss,
As a farewell before leaving.
My smile was oh, so conceiving.
One day I would come home and find it,
An opportunity of all, for just a bit.
I would grasp hold of it, and smile.
This opportunity would have been worth the while.
