A Way To You

" An Almost"

Flashback

Loud music was banging in the class, and everyone was almost drenched in sweat, it had been 2 month for her in school and she didn't know if she learned anything else except ignoring Zac, somehow his presence was annoying.

She fell for the nth time now, groaning heavily, she stood up again and tried to follow the step that she had been trying to learn since one hour but failed, she hated the steps with swings and this was one of them.

"You should follow Zac, he will help you learning this step pretty well". instructor told her catching her perplexed, meanwhile Zac removed the towel from his shoulder as he nodded.

"You have to arch your legs 90 degrees for doing it "  he bend down to lift up her leg and she almost jumped away.

Instructor was now looking at her displeasingly,

"I know how to do it, I was just messing around haha-"

Jess didn't know what possess her but she readily performed the step following exact point and was successful earning a surprise look from both of them, she sighed after gaining an approved look from instructor, not because she finally did it, but because she wouldn't have to face him.

Chapter 2 

"Although it was amiable but alas it ended."

The day arrived, the famous prom day ball for which whole of the academy has been assembled. It was basically a random competition of prom dance which lead to grand selections. 

Zac and Jess were two main competent of each other and today Jess had promised herself that she would defeat him.She entered the hall room , and everyone stood in awe as she glamorously walked down the stair case in black shimmering gown with open hair gathered on one side. She looked breath-taking, and the fact that she had worn something like this for the fist time cause even the girls to turn around and glimpse at her.

Somewhere in the corner of the room Zac was engaged in a conversation with Dany, who gazed at his front in awe,

"Are you even listening to me-" Zac turned around and as if he has lost his ability to breath, he kept staring at his front.

The moment he saw her; he was already defeated , his gaze never left her .
She looked through room and for a second their gaze met, he locked her in, he was wearing a black tuxedo which made him look very handsome as he brushed his fingers through his hair.

Even if the girls were swooning over him, he just couldn't deviate anywhere but her. It wasn't the first time, Even if they were in there dance academy he'd still look at her profoundly, She would ignore him as always, which gave him advantage as he could look at her without having any possibility of being caught. It was intriguing, because even if she'd be drenched in sweat, he'd still look at her intently, as if she has been the most interesting thing in entire surrounding. 

The hall was ignited with golden lights as the candle enchanted over silver chandeliers, Marble floors were now set.

Jess held her hand with Dany and the music started to play, 
"You look really beautiful" he whispered, she raised her head as a show off whispering an " I know".

among the crowd of people Zac passed through Liam asking him for his partner, both of them were now just dancing beside each other except the fact that Jess was too busy in herself to notice him.

The cue changed as Dany waltz her around for different partner, a hand was placed on her lower back as she faced her front and that's when it hit her, Zac had practically pushed away the person who was next for the cue in order to dance with her. He knelt down and kissed her hands causing her to shut her eyes tightly.

"Wise men said only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you"

The moment was already unbearable enough for her, but the song made it even complicated, her hand which was still under his grip was placed around his shoulder, 
She kept her gaze low, not letting anything get to her on this day, before her mind occupied her she felt being pulled towards him, his hand was grasping her waist tightly as he took a hold of her hand, tilting his mouth to her side.

"at least look at me for tonight "he whispered and she lifted her eyelids. It was as if everything went soundless and numb as they both stared in each other orbs.

He intertwined his hands with her fingers and started to move to the melody of song.

He was focused on her cause she was everything he wanted to focus right now, And she didn't shifted her gaze either, he lifted her up and then turned her around, placing his head in the crook of her neck.

 "You're the most beautiful person I've ever witnessed" His lips touched her bare shoulder, and she came back to her sense.

The cue sound was heard and she tried to waltz away from him but he didn't move, his hand tightly held her in place and the next song came about, she gave him a mad glare receiving a genuine smile in return, 

"Let's not fight today" he said in a tone that defies all her rejection, strange as it may seem but this was the only thing she was afraid of.

Without any second thought he twirl her around with rhythm.

"Let's just not consider me Zac for today." his hold around her loosened up, 

"Can we start things again?"

The song came to it's end as he bent down taking her for a dip, eyes locked on her like a magnet, she looked at a place somewhere near his shoulder trying to distract herself, but the way he was dangerously close to her didn't help it.

"Do I have a chance?" he said in a low whisper prompting her to look back.

There faces were now inches away and he felt like his body was responding automatically, he was close, too close for her proximity and she sensed it, before her mind gave up, she divert her face away, moving away from the stage.

That night was an almost for both of them

He was almost near her heart
She was almost near to loosing her heart
