CHAPTER 15
Dany arrived in room and tossed a packet towards Zac,
"Jess sent it for you." It had a bandage and ointment inside of it, Zac analyzed the packet and looked at Dany who was now laying on his bed,
"She told me not to tell you about this" he tried to smile but the reaction of Zac was a bit washed out,
He quickly grabbed the packet and was about to throw it in the dustbin, however, paused, he was still enraged about that incident earlier but, it felt like all the anger was draining away. After staring in the empty air for a whole minute, he sighed and placed it on the shelf .
He didn't even know how things could turn out, if it was in his hands he would be standing in front of her door already, but all the ideas were tangled up, she didn't want to see him despite his efforts so it was better this way, but if she really didn't; then why would she send him this?
equipping himself out of these musings he turned towards Dany,
"Let's go for a drink."
11:00 p.m
Jess was fidgeting on the couch, something was budging her, she considered the idea of having a conversation with him, but she had never been the one to start something, more probably because she doesn't know what to say.
She got up and grabbed her coat just when she was about to open the door, there was a faint knock.
Aiming for the knob, she opened.
He was standing there in disheveled condition, shirt un-tucked, hair all tousled up- tumbling around barely able to stand on his own.
An alarm started to buzz around her mind, and she herself needed an excuse to prevent this "talk" so she decided to close the door but before she could do that ,he swiftly put his foot between the edge, staring at her for a whole minute, he gripped the door and opened it wider.
"I wanted to say sorry" words came out as a muffle, but were audible enough for her.
She observed him thoroughly it was evident that he was drunk, she was actually surprised because he used to have a great tolerance for alcohol.
then how much would he have taken to get in this state?
"Now that you said it you should go to your room, you need to rest" she replied back, as it was most suitable thing to do for now.
He took a step forward stumbling, a bit tipsy and thus out of his own accumulation of possibility, right now he was just doing where his mind was leading him to .
"I have another work to do as well" he closed the door behind him, she could only muster up a quizzical stare, he took a step forward and she just waited for him to speak when he took her wrist on his hand pulling her forward, his fingers tracing from the palm of her hand to her neck, there was now less distance between them and he could feel her breathing getting shallow from the way her chest rise and fall rapidly.
"You know I have to gain a lot of courage to come here" he chuckled huskily, just as this wasn't enough, he circled around the side of her waist inching closer towards her mouth causing her to look down.
"I really want to kiss you right now " voice smooth laced with whispers , before she could take a step behind he pulled her closer keeping a mere inch of distance between them, she could smell the alcohol.
She looked at him with heavy lidded gaze and he waited, in-spite of being this close to her he waited..... for any hesitation, but it didn't come.
"Can you atleast look at me" he said softly, smelling her hair, at this moment he didn't knew what made him intoxicated, everything around him was making him loose control.
She finally faced him, and he swore that the look she gave him was memorable for his bleak eyes forever, he knew what to do next, he leaned in slowly keeping his eyes on her all the time, hands moving to her clenched fist as he rubbed circles on them before kissing her softly, almost as if she was too fragile to be held.
his hands stroked through her arms caressing her chin while resting on the back of her neck.she wasn't kissing him back, but she didn't push him away either, as if a battle is going around on her mind, letting her guards down, she didn't fought back, all the thoughts washed away, and the feelings that she tried to ignore equipped her all at once.
What started off as something tender, turned intense, as he pushed her towards the door, the heat getting more and more as he kissed her passionately waiting for her to kiss him back, and when she didn't he felt something break inside of him, he could feel his face getting red with overwhelming emotions, pulling her waist to the closest proximity he kissed her deeply for the last time, giving up in front of her cold facade he pulled away.
"Why are you making this so hard for me" voice rugged, breathe shallow. All of these emotions were too much to take in, and before it'd left him completely empty he decided it was better to leave.
"Stay." she muttered as her hands stopped the boy in front of her, he turned around as he noticed how hard she was clenching on the hem of his shirt as if her life depended on it.
It was easy to read her, it was like she was his favorite book, even if he knew how it ended he would still continue reading it. Ticking of the clock seem to have paused for a second as she mastered up her courage.
"Why do you keep coming back?" she whispered lowly as if stopping herself from tearing up.
"Why do you keep coming back when I'm being such an asshole" she left a low chuckle at the end causing him to courage up a smile.
"Because it's you" He took a step forward, this time she didn't take one back, placing his hand beneath her chin, he guided her towards his eyes.
"You're still my favorite person, and noone will ever change that "
he pressed his lips on her forehead, moving it down to kiss the tip of her nose, his gaze shifted towards her lips again, and this time she give in, the side of his mouth curved up as he looked at her closing her eyes, and as if this whole moment was planned ,he reconnected his lips with her, feeling her with each time that he had in his possession. Her hands wrapped around her neck kissing him back which almost took him far off to his glee as he lifted her up smiling unknowingly.
"You're not getting away from me. I promise." he whispered to her as she pulled away, wishing with his all might that this wasn't a dream.
They say when you meet the right person time stops, she really didn't believed in all that until today, those few minutes felt like hours , and what's crazy is that she liked being with him in a timezone where nothing else seems to matter anymore, she think she likes him, or most probably she've grown fond of him, he made her come close towards who she really is, and right now at this moment of her life she really wanted the time to stop, even if this doesn't end well, she wanted to stay in this moment a little longer.
"You know, when it works, love is pretty amazing. It's not overrated. There's a reason for all those songs."
